What's on the Menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?
Heading back home to Wisconsin tomorrow. I have mixed feelings about it. But it's a two-day drive, and it'd be nice to have the weekend to rest up before I start back to work next week :-(
QOTD: I started lurking here about a year before surgery, I think. For a long time it was just to read everything I could and gather all kinds of helpful info, but now I come here mostly because it keeps me focused on my plan, plus this menu group is fun! I feel like I know some of you personally!! I lurk on a couple of other WLS boards, but this one is my favorite - there's lots of expertise on here that's missing on other boards.
17 months out
B: protein bar (I know I know - but I'm couch surfing and I ate my usual yogurt & strawberries last night because I was hungry...)
S: protein shake, coffee with half & half
L: pulled pork, 2 T baked beans, cole slaw
D: not sure - probably yogurt and baby carrots
Good morning!
QOTD: I think the accountability and support keep me coming back. There are no support groups in my area and I am one who desperately needs guidance. I am an information gatherer and need a lot of data to conduct my daily life ;). And the daily menu thread not only gives me valuable ideas but advice when I am off track. Because I have actually no idea what I am doing otherwise!
B: Premier Protein vanilla with coffee and Torani Pumpkin Pie
L: 1/2 c nf cottage cheese with 6 pineapple chunks and 2T Miracle Whip Light
D: 1/2 avocado, poached egg
S: Carbmaster Banana Cream Pie, Babybel, calcium chew x2
Totals: 593 calories 62 protein 27 carbs 26 fat
Trying to eat light today. Chicken satay did not go well and I spent the evening trying to get my liquids and protein in in the form of liquids... enough said but chicken satay probably off the menu for a while ;0

Sorry the chicken satay didnt work out! that sounded like such a great idea too!

I know, it was such a great recipe! Just marinated chicken tenderloins, then broiled with a spicy peanut sauce. One or the other did not work for me. Oh well, small price to pay (felt like a big price in the moment, though ;0)

Chicken is still so hit or miss with me... mostly miss.
I yearn for the day that I can eat, and enjoy, a chicken wing!

I love bacon.. but for a year now - more than a bite of bacon and I am nauseated for the rest of the day...
Almost any bacon. Accept Polish style double smoked bacon.. I can eat that...it really looks and taste like a very good ham..

I can handle all the hot sauce and horseradish in the world... more the better. But meat of almost any kind really bothers me. I have been able to keep it down until yesterday and boy, was that unpleasant. Back to the drawing board.
