Weigh****chers post RNY?
I joined Weigh****chers in 1973. I was 25 years old and weighed 138 at 5'2". I reached my goal of 120 in eight weeks and then maintained for another six weeks to become a lifetime member. Through the years I was always going back and each time I weighed more than the last year.
One day it dawned on me that all the other members had the same experience. The week after New Year's the lines were long to get weighed and meetings were packed. Meetings were $2.50 a week then and you did not pay until you were ten pounds over goal.
I never got back to 120, but think I would have gained more over the years if not for Weigh****chers.
When I had a regain at three years after surgery, I went back to Weigh****chers. It was not a good plan for me, but I was desperate. Knowing I had to weigh in was good for my motivation. The "plan" did not work for me. The only thing that works for me is counting calories and weighing daily.
A high protein, low carb plan sounds excellent and I am going to go back to some meetings. I like the structure and accountability of Weigh****chers. And I think it is good to try different things from time to time.
