So how was the Annual "Let's all over eat" Day for everyone?

I was surprised how fast the calories added up, even just having a small taste!!  Spent 1 1/2 hrs on MFP trying to be truthful; so many variations in cal/protein options for the same foods. I went middle of the road with making my selections. Cal. count was 1020, up from my usual 650-800.  Stayed clear of desserts, dumped once--never again!!

Now the cleanup begins, we hosted!!!

I did ok I guess. What typically sinks me is waiting for the meal. My sister kept snacking on crackers-- I had 10 exactly before I said enough and found something more protein friendly to hold me over.

Dinner itself- had ham, prime rib, yams, greens, and cranberry. I skipped turkey, rice stuffing, and rolls, I tatsted mac & cheese to compare the two that were made- but that was it. Will eat the same today- minus the yams/cranberry.

had pie and carrot cake for dessert. Skipped a host of other desserts too extensive to name. I'll continue to have small amounts of my favorites -- and forgo the other stuff.

Keeping my workouts going thanks to the fitness center at the hotel.

I did okay.  I also noticed the huge (yuuge) portions that others ate.  I had a spoonful of sausage stuffing, which has always been my favorite.  I had a spoonful of potatoes that were made with greek yogurt.  I had a few green beans, yams with apples and sf Torani syrup, sugar free cranberry sauce, and 2 slices of turkey.  Made myslf eat all of the turkey, which was very unpleasant, but I did it. I also had a pumpkin ramekin minus crust.  Even with the tastes of food I ate while cooking I was well below 1000 calories... hard to count but I tried to go high on estimates.  My mother commented that in previous years I would have eaten man times the amount I ate yesterday.  And, lots of comments on how great I look ;)

I did not overindulge at all. I stuck to my plan, the only treat I had was a very small slice of sugar free pumpkin cheesecake. I never eat dessert so that was a huge treat for me!  Got on the scale this morning and was 2 pounds down from yesterday morning!

What is that, even?  I had part of a piece of bread, and a bit of apple pie and lost two pounds this morning.

I did ok. I actually started logging my meals on MFP so I can be more accountable. I had mainly protein and veggies, but had a couple of spoonfuls on stuffing. I stayed away from the sweets.

I'm feeling pretty okay about it - I had a thanksgiving last weekend that the food was crappy but I had basically just turkey there. Yesterday we hosted and I ate really well and was able to weigh things - I ate smoked turkey, brussels sprouts, broccoli, and a little mashed potatoes. I had some frozen strawberry dessert later.

I felt full but not overly so  and also not like I was missing out on anything. I wouldn't want to eat like this every day - it was still more than normal and I don't eat potatoes or dessert regularly but for what it was I'm good.

My Thanksgiving morning started out reading a WLS support group member's obituary in the local online newspaper.  I do not know why this woman died but I do know she was young (30's) and a quiet attendee who probably needed more support.

How sad for her and her family and how stressful for you. How did you manage that throughout the day?
