I would say I ate too much over the holiday. Or say I ate before I got to their house.

I'd just smile and tell her I already ate but wanted to come to the party any way.  If she pushed, I'd get some food and put it on HER plate, and tell her she must be hungry and projecting her hunger onto me, lol.  That's just me though ;-).
