What's on Your Saturday Menu, RNYers?

Well...the high is going to be 78 here today. Seriously. My husband said it is the highest temp here on this day in 100 years. it has been a really mild winter even by our standards...I do wish we could have one good snowfall for the kids' sake, because we haven't really had any...

oh, I wish I had learned so many things...not that it's too late of course, but just that it's a lot harder now at this particular stage of life where it's an accomplishment to get my legs shaved. I wish I had learned handwork...sewing, knitting, etc. I've never had anyone to really teach me and so...maybe some day I can pursue that.

Daisy is so right about the alcohol! I have had wine a couple of times since surgery. One glass tips me pretty hard. But it leaves quickly too. Weird.

Today...we have such a busy weekend! Today two of my kids have games, and I am getting together with some girlfriends at someone's house for some games and such. A friend of mine hosts these nights every so often and they are a lot of fun.

Breakfast- protein shake today I think.

Lunch- deli meat/cheese/pickles with mustard

Snack- tea, half a protein bar

Dinner- pizza for kids, I will be out and not sure what I will eat. I should bring something...hmmm. I have some hummus. Maybe some hummus and sliced cucumber?

Snack- yogurt if I eat well at the party. If all I eat is hummus, then I will fix a steak.

Morning everyone!! I totally echo what JB said about alcohol. It takes a lot less to get you buzzed and you sober up fast-- hence the urge to drink more. Alcohol is fldefenelty a few times a year treat for me too!!

Ive been on my run, no other major plans for the day. My older has been sick since Thursday- so just gonna keep a close eye on him. Qotd: I'm so indifferent about things-- there is nothing I can think of that I wish I'd mastered. I wouldn't mind taking a course in cosmetic application/ skin care to teach me tips and tricks I don't already know. I'd love to help feel good about their appearance.

Posting from the WiFi at Sparta Shooting Complex where the cowboy shoot is today. We decided yesterday afternoon to bring the camper and the dog and camp here last night. Lily and I already did our 3.2 miles here this morning and sawv3 huge deer running through a field. Beautiful weather here today as its already 52 degrees. Post op 4 years 5.25 months and not sure weight today as camper has no scale. No extra snacking yesterday so that was good. Menu for today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz deli ham and cheese 1/2 tomato sliced D lettuce salad and less than 1/2 c spaghetti. I know bad but going to a fundraiser for a friend's church. If I can get just meat sauce I'll do that instead. Only going to be supportive for sure. S mission one chocolate brownie protein bar.  Have a great day everyone and make some amazing choices that move you one step closer to your goal! We're all worth it!

in the 40s again today in Wisconsin, which is a heat wave for us.  Should be high 30s/low 40s all week.  YAY!  I'm glad we didn't have all that snow - although like JB, I still love a snow day!  (although the university has one only about once every 10 years!)

feeling very bloated today - water retention (too much sodium) + full intestines.  Hate the feeling, but it's just as well - easier to control my eating when I feel this way!

QOTD:  like a couple of others, I also wish I had some musical talent and I wish I spoke a second language.  I always loved languages and studied Spanish, French, German, Swedish, and Japanese at one time or another, but I could probably only mutter a few words of each at this point.   I can (sort of) read signs and menus if I'm in a French- or Spanish-speaking country, but that's about the extent of it...      :-(

20 months out

B:  homemade plain Greek yogurt, fresh raspberries

S:  coffee with half & half, protein shake

L:  sausage/white bean soup (??)

D:  roasted pork with homemade cranberry sauce

a L&F Greek yogurt later if I can afford the calories - (need to watch it - up a couple pounds - but probably due to the above....)

Hello Menu Buddiesssss!! It is Saturday and guess who has two thumbs and has been up since 3:30 this girl! Why can't I sleep in on a weekend?  Suggestions, ideas, chants, sacrifice ideas?  Anything?

Today is a busy busy day some how I have gotten volunteered to gather all the things for my Grandmothers surprise dinner flowers, balloons, cake etc... which is all good because at least I will get some extra exercise in.

QOTD:  I have a lot of things I wish I could do.  Growing up my dad drove stock cars and I always wanted to but my mother was against it said no even though dad was ok with it.  Now I wish I had my dad has even offered to pay for me to go to one of those driving schools as a gift because he has always felt bad that I never got the chance to get into a car when I was younger, never know I just might take him up on it now that I can fit into the seat (I think).  I also wish I had learned Sign Language.

Now onto food for the day!

B: 2 slices of bacon

L: 2oz of turkey

D: No clue family dinner so I need to look at the menu at the restaurant I do know they have a really great steak and salad bar so bring on the leftovers!

Have a great day my friends stay warm!  OH wait I forgot to mention that tonight my daughter is going to the Founders Ball at the Newseum in DC, I can't wait to see pictures of her and her friends all dressed up and pretty! Hopefully she remembers to send me pictures!
