Loved the Encyclopedia too! Not strange at all... If you read it cover to cover like my brother did one summer... then maybe a little :)

I feel like my whole life has been on hold for the last year because of my father's health (and my husband's job loss), so I get what you're saying, JB. Although sometimes life just happens and throws you for a loop. I'm glad I've been forced into meditation and yoga (I have to do them every day as part of my research study), because I've found it really does calm my brain and bring my stress level down. And fortunately, I've been able to keep my focus on my eating plan through all of this. It could have been a disaster, but it hasn't been. Part of it may be that there are days when it seems like my eating is the one thing I can control!

QOTD: "Wrinkle in Time" for me, too - I loved that book!!!

Good morning everyone!

Meeting the family for dinner tonight to celebrate a couple of birthdays that passed while my mom and sister were off on holidays. I've looked up the menu and I've decided to go with the tiger shrimp appetizer. It's funny how now I look up menus and plan ahead so I'll make good choices where in the past I might have previewed the menu for entirely different reasons...

QOTD I used to read a lot when I was a kid/early teens but the only two series that pop to mind are The Babysitters Club and Sweet Valley High.

4+ months post op

B- coffee w/ 1/2 chocolate premier

L- leftover chicken with jalapeno cream cheese (this worked out really well and will be made again)

D- shrimp and brushetta mix

S- remaining premier in coffees, more leftover chicken

Totals 678 cal, 108g protein, 17g carbs

Have a great day guys!!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that things slow down for you so that you are able to give yourself more time for the trainings. Someday I hope to start training for a half marathon, too!

Ironically, my favorite youth novels are the Harry Potter series. This is ironic because I never read or watched the movies as a young adult and finally got into the series via audiobooks when I started commuting back and forth 2-4 times a month to see my Dr's for weight loss surgery. My surgeon is about 2hrs away and I wanted something to do on the car rides which often had my young boys tagging along so it had to be appropriate listening. Turns out I'm totally a Harry Potter geek now, LOL!

B: Protien smoothly:chocolate injury, PB2, Kale, Fairlife milk

L: 1/4 cup cottage cheese

S: 1.5 cups fuzzy navel protien

D: Tuna

Yay on early-ish today, had an appointment cancel.

I have re-done weeks or days on the running app because there is too much time in between. I was excited to go running with an old friend yesterday- she humored me because she runs marathons...but her setting the pace took over a minute off my pace time... now if I can do that on my own....

HB egg with everything spice? Why didn't I think of this? I have 2 HB eggs in fridge right now.

Ate my menu yesterday, changed it in MFP if it changes... Been trying to cut back on calories to lose a few...ended up eating more at night than I planned- which brought me up to normal daily calories and I lost a pound today. Body- you make no sense... My problem at night, is sometimes the night gets away from me and yes I am up until 12-1-2AM...and at some point you do get hungry again if it has been 5-6-7 hours since you ate... real solution is go to bed earlier.

QOTD: Childhood books, I immediately thought of the Nancy Drew Mystery series... Mystery of the 99 steps... read tons of those. A little older reading- high school, I loved Kurt Vonnegut and of course the Hobbit, and the Lord of the Rings series.

B: Latte with fairlife- going to Costco for Miralax today
HB egg and mayo on wasa cracker with Everything spice!

S: Chocolate truffle Protein drink- shaken not stirred - with cashew milk

L: Chicken thighs with broccolli and cheese (I will measure)

S: Siggi's with 1/2 scoop mint cookie protein powder

D: Pork carnitas on cauliflower rice (This is by far the favorite thing I make in IP)

S: chai latte

ex: Trainer and maybe some pilates

Good morning! It's raining but will be clear this afternoon for my hike, yay! I am really enjoying exercise for the first time in my life. I believe its because when I was at 300 pounds it was so difficult to breath, move, painful and anxiety producing... Now, I am able to do so much more, and more easily. I though I was lazy and just didn't want to 'push' through (like society makes you believe), but it's way more physical than that. Anyway, I am thrilled.

QOTD - Ohhhh, Judy Blume for sure! I poured over those books and read them over and over. In high school, I read V.C. Andrews. I remember pretending I was sick so I could stay home from school and read all day. I didn't discover Anne of Green Gables until my 30's - so in love!

4 1/2 months post op

b- coffee w/heavy cream and splenda

b2 -chicken

l-chicken
