What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu, RNYers?NYers?
Hey all
I would LOVE to be off today but for some reason we do not get easter off. Our UK/EU divisions do though. 2 days off!!
my body woke up all kinked up so extra stretching will be involved. Running after work for shopping/cvs, kroger, raw milk, and publix. I have DEALS to get lol!
Yesterday I had: protein coffee, tea, leftover cornish hen, cabbage, leftover roast, and dinner was tilapia with cabbage and salad greens. oh and a protein cake/yogurt for snack. too much salt yesterday so have to dial it back today.
16 months post op / 122lbs today0 (salt!) / maintenance diet
Todays plans: more leftovers, less salt maybe. Not sure about dinner yet but I don't think I'm cooking
Sunday will be ham (a giant one) and home made mashed potato, veggies.
Here are two pics of the pups. Itty Bitty in the box is my fav... I SEEEEE YOU!!!!! lol
QOTD: I LOVE cake but only the really good moist ones. If it is dry I am not wasting calories on it. I make a really yummy coconut layer cake and an italian creme cake on special occasions from scratch. For easter I bought DH an apple streudel from aldi that is german to have with ice cream on top. I'm sure it will be yummy.
Coconut layer cake and an italian creme cake! Yummmmm!

Good morning JB and everyone!
Missed the last couple days because was not feeling well. Have came to the conclusion is was the International Coffee creamer I was putting in my coffee and the coffee, so no more from this point on! My pouch is so ultra sensitive, which leads me to the....
QOTD: Used to love cake. I dump from sugar now sooooo bye bye to cake, pie, cookies etc. I also become ill (Dumping?) from carbs and fat also, so I really have to watch very carefully what I eat. Still learning curve at times and frustrating. I have become a crazy label reader, lol.
I went to my first local support group Tuesday...local being a 45 min. drive. Only six people of which 3 were presurgery, 1 ten years out from RNY and 1 2 years out from RNY. The older gentleman that was 10 years out has had a lot of weight gain but he admitted he eat pasta 4 days a week, eats mashed potatoes and gravy and the list goes on! What the.......! To be honest I was shocked. I haven't generally gone before simply because of the drive and the time of day(6 pm). I went to this one simply because the Bari nurse at my 9 month appt. had asked me to attend a meeting because it might inspire others since she considers me successful. It certainly was an eye opener though and probably won't go again.

re: the guy 10 years out - people never fail to surprise me. I have a friend who had RNY about 10 years ago. He was recently diagnosed with several vitamin deficiencies (B1, D - I forget what else). I asked him if he'd been keeping on top of his vitamins, and he said he's never taken them. WTF??!!!??
UWHealth (Michael Garren did it). But I've gone to some support group meetings both there and at Dean (we're actually Dean patients - and we used to have Dean insurance until I had to switch to WPS since the HMO's don't cover WLS - so they don't care if I go to their support groups. In fact, they might not care even if we weren't Dean patients....). I haven't been to many, though, as groups at both places conflict too much with my schedule. But yea - I know what you mean. I've heard those kinds of comments, too. And you're right - dumping on 4 grams of sugar sounds pretty extreme. I don't dump at all, but I know most dumpers can handle way more than 4 grams!
you work for the state too, don't you? (i can't remember how I knew this - I may have looked you up or maybe I just put two and two together at one point - anyway, I'm pretty sure I remember you work for the state). So you probably went to UWHealth as well, since WPS only covers it if you have it done at UW hospital.
