What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu, RNYers?NYers?
yea - our premiums are outrageous - esp since we switched to WPS. Something like $675 a month. I'd like to switch back to Dean (c. $225 a month), but I'm worried I might get some kind of complication, and they won't cover it if it can be attributed to the surgery. Ugh. Although if the state moves to self insurance next year, it won't matter anymore - I'll have no choice since no way can I pay $3000 a month for a individual policy. My husband is looking for city jobs - I hope they have a better deal, although I doubt it. It's probably pretty much the same as the state. Damn Act 10!!!
I work at UW and was super involved in staff governance until this past year. One of our lobbyists said there was very little support for it in the legislature, even among the Republicans, but the fear was that Walker was going to write it up in such a way (in the budget) that it would be hard for them to vote against it. Which he did - he has the savings going towards K-12 education. Who can argue with giving schools more money?
since Walker keeps giving himself credit for our great retirement system (like he had anything to do with it...), I'm hoping that won't happen. But I know a lot of people want that. I can retire at any time so i'll walk if things go south - but then if it affects retirees as well as current employees, it's not going to matter
I had my surgery at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, NY.

So glad it's not just me.
