No revision to RNY.

Now I am having a laparotomy, possible hernia repair. My esophageal dysmotility is severely abnormal. The doctor says he only sees this in people over 80. I am only 31. They are afraid the revision or even the hernia repair might make it worse. I am so fed up with reflux. Anyone ever have issues with dysmotility? They have ruled out achalasia and other disorders. It is unknown cause.

I've been reading up on this because I've never heard of it. When I volunteered at a handicap therapy farm, I learned that one of the reasons they like to get wheel chair bound kids up on horses, is that the walking motion of a horse can help trigger a smooth action of the gut system, from the swallow to the bowel movements. Are you mobile? If you haven't already, start walking more and see if that might not help your body get it's groove back?

I agree, you should get a second opinion...

I'm really sorry you're going through this :(
