What's on your menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
I think our pantries grow stray Triscuts! Doh!! A few handfuls will be quickly in the past though. You are a determination warrior and you are doing great.

Yesterday, while cleaning out Aunt's house, I came across one of those butter cookie tins... you know the one... with little stacks of scrumptious butter cookies, all different shapes, some with sugar crystals on top??
Well I probably came across 2-3 other ones in the house filled with things like sewing kits, buttons, playing cards, etc... but this one..> THIS SOB STILL HAD COOKIES IN IT!!! Now, #1, I'm doing AMAW, #2 cookies aren't on any program I'm doing since WLS and #3 THEY WERE PROBABLY 10 YEARS OLD!!! It didn't stop me from looking longingly at them, and having a 'moment' where I considered shoving them into the pie hole... Luckily I caught myself and threw those suckers in the big trash can outside...
How could eating old stale cookies even cross my mind??! ACK!
Next thought was... why did Auntie have those hidden in a closet in her guest bedroom???

Whothehelldoesntfinishthosecookies?!?!?!?! Whaaaa! Is that even a thing? I remember one year near Christmas when my oldest son was little and said he was having a hard time putting the lid back on the tin. I looked at him and said, "It goes back on?" I was only sort of kidding.

I am ashamed to admit that back in my unbridled eating days someone gave me a 5 pound tin of those cookies at work as a Christmas present. I consumed the whole tin in about a week at work. The saddest part of this story is that I didn't particularly like those cookies - but they were there and I ate and ate and ate until the gigantic tin was empty. I wonder how many pounds I gained that week!
Good Morning RNY Menu'ers
Hope all is well here. Still super busy at work, and at home with freelance projects, packing and moving.
QOTD: Yes, in the 7th grade on the way to the bus before going home, a bird flew over my head and I thought i felt something but wasn't sure. And kids can be mean! I got on the school bus and people were pointing and laughing but wouldnt tell me what it was, until one fo the girls stood up with a couple napkins and wiped it off my head.

QOTD- YES, just once, and I just remember it being WARM... I think it was on my shoulder or forearm, while I was fishing on Lake Erie as a kid.

Not my best menu by far, and I'm not convinced I'll eat my salmon salad lunch due to just not being hungry, but I may pick at it through the afternoon. 1/2 my carbs are coming from the enchilada so I'll probably just eat the insides like I did last night with my sister's venison enchiladas. Last night I also ate some black beans.
Today is the day I drive back to my "home" turf in NE Ohio. I'll be hosting our weekly dinner with friends at my (ex)husband's house, checking in on our livestock and cleaning the water tanks etc... It's two hours from here, so I need to cut out of work right at 5 so I can get there by 7ish and have time to do some chores while the enchiladas are baking! Tomorrow I'll work from my apt in the Akron area and be able to take many walking breaks. Today is always just drive time, a few chores, and cooking on my feet so I'll only have about 3500 steps in :(
This week I've averaged 10,200 steps a day, and I've run (extremely slowly, like a 17 minute mile!) twice, both times a little over a mile. I've started mixing running in with walking when I'm going up an incline as this seems to really work my butt :)
I've dropped 30 lbs since my surgery, so I'm not getting as much from my walking/ jogging as I did in the beginning. Does anyone use a weight vest to preserve the body's weight resistance?
