Jamaican black castor oil for hair loss IT'S WORKING!

Sounds like a coincidence. It's just a silly myth. Any kind of oil tends to grow your hair SLIGHTLY faster, but I don't think the castor oil did anything.

"THEY" also said castor oil would help me go into labor...

The doctor needed to know WHEN/WHERE my water broke...

I was too embarrassed, to admit it was during one of my NUMEROUS toilet trips...

I DO NOT recommend castor oil, for labor...it STILL took 28 hours...

And I didn't grow any new hair, either...but...the kid had a head full...hmmm....

Telogen Effluvium (the condition you're experiencing) usually starts 3-5 months after the body has experienced a traumatic event, lasts a few months as the body sheds old hair to make room for new follicles, then stops the shedding. So as you can see, you're right on schedule. The Jamaican stuff was just a coincidence for what was going to happen anyway, but if it's making your hair look good, use it for that.

Wow.

My hair loss started before the weight loss. Post chemotherapy but has been worse in the past 6 months. I have tried everything suggested by my dermatologist including prescription meds but couldn't tolerate the side effects. This was suggested to me by a coworker. My thinking is that it couldn't hurt so I invested $4.99 and gave it a try.

Bottom line, despite the lack of "scientific" evidence my hair is growing back. Not just a little. More hair than I have had in over 12 years. With how often people here post about hair loss thought I'd pass it on. I expected the "no scientific" crowd to chime in but had no ideal that the topic was going to be controversial.

BTW I don't own stock in any company that markets or distributes Castor oil products.

You might want to double check your original post then. I don't think the castor oil suggestion alone is the controversial part.

"I've tried everything suggested by my dermatologist".... so when the medical professional with X years of study, training and experience doesn't work, you resort to the secrets of the black folk. Cool.

I stopped listening to suggestions by medical professionals and good-intentioned people alike. All the trial and error is more mind boggling than learning to embrace your beauty- despite how much hair tops your head.

I don't care about the science (though I agree it's coincidence). That's not my controversy.

Gorgeous women like you don't need to hide it behind hair.

I was just going to say the same thing Kat. Peach - you are stunning. It's hard to imagine you ever worrying about how you look. I'd hate you for being so beautiful, but I can't because you're also such a caring, big hearted person.

(One of considerable grace and endless patience for those who bring the stupid as well.)
