New insurance?

Hello! I began my preoperative journey in February of 2018. Throughout prepping have had the same insurance. However, I just graduated from school and in late august/early September I will be on a different insurance due to starting a teaching job. My surgery will either be scheduled just before my insurance changes or immediately after. Should I just stop the preop process and wait until I'm under new insurance? I'm truly unsure on what I should do.

Find out if your new insurance will cover WLS. More and more policies do not, or are dropping it. If it were me, and I were covered now, I would push to get it done before the switch.

Why wait on a number of fronts. Insurance risk, but possibly more important (at least to me, if it was me), I'd wouldn't want to take a medical leave right after starting a new job - if I could pu**** up earlier. Good luck

HW 510 / SW 424/ GW 175 (stretch goal to get 10 under) / CW 160 (I'm near the charts ideal weight - wonder if I can stay here)

Try to get it done before if possible. 1) you may have to restart all of the pre-op checklist over again under your new insurance 2) you are not protected under FMLA unless you've been with your employer for over a year so you may not be able to take the time and/or you may lose your job if you have surgery within that time. Its now or you'll have to wait a minimum of 1 yr after you start your new job to have surgery.

Lisa (38) my goal is 160 lbs.... my dream is happy and healthy
