I know! So so much tougher and so much grit. My grandpa hopped trains and such starting at 12 to go for seasonal jobs of picking fruit and field work. He was such an interesting person who'd been through hell but was still a kid at heart. No where near perfect but my grandpa was/is my hero. Him and my mom will always hold that spot for me!

Argh! I was on hold over an hour and half. Decided to just go up there to see about it. Guess what? No retina doctors were in! You'd think they could say a short freakin message saying they were closed. I was livid.

now I'm enjoying some raspberry ganache tea that is heavenly. I have a fun project to look forward too and a path to some answers about my food sensitivities. I just want to say I am thankful for all of you here.

Good morning all! I am afraid to step on my scale and my thighs are looking rather large in my jeans to me...

I am somewhat wishing I didn't come home for quite as many weeks. I had missed everyone and I knew this was going to be a tough year since DH declined through the holidays and died just afterwards. But I seem to be having a lot of time to feel depressed because it is harder to go outside for very long because of the weather.

I fly back to Florida a week from today. But then I have to have a serious discussion with Mike about spending somewhat less than 100% of our time together. It was just too much too quickly but I am really not sure he will feel the same way.

QOTD: No, I can't imagine not having modern conveniences. I have always loved technology and embraced it quite willingly. Though I wouldn't mind having a planned unplugged vacation for a few days and staying in a rustic cabin somewhere beautiful.

TSS: 4 years, 9 months

B: Coffee!!! eggs and light toast or eggs and cottage cheese

L: tunafish and cottage cheese

D: pheasant (cooked by DS, so I have no idea how it will be prepared) and veggies

S: yogurt pie

is it time for another Zoom call? It's been awhile... I'm probably stuck in the house this week due to the weather, so I'd be up for it!

100% togetherness would be tough, even with someone I wanted to be with all the time. I'm more of an introvert and need my alone time. Luckily we have a big-ish, spread-out house so DH and I can be apart from each other when we need to be (which is at least a few hours every day). I'm not looking forward to the time when we might have to move into a senior apartment and be on top of each other all the time... Anyway, hopefully your conversation with Mike will go OK...

Hugs! I can't imagine how tough that must be. Hang in there!

Also, hope the talk goes well. I can't spend 100% of my time with anyone....even if it's someone I adore. My introverted self needs some alone time to recharge. So I understand.

I agree on not 100% with anyone at anytime, but I think it needs to be more at the less than 50% level at this stage and I am not sure he is feeling the same way.

Oh Liz so sorry your having a hard time emotionally. It is very hard at the holiday season. I wish you the best with your discussion with Mike. I feel smothered sometimes with DH due to the fact that he has not worked in over a year due to his back problems. Sometime I wish he would just give me some space but with Covid it does not help. There is no where to get away. And like you it is too cold and snowy to at least get out or a run. Hopefully 2021 will give us all the space we need from our loved ones. Yes we love them but all the time can be a bit much. We all need a break every so often.
