Good morning. 2021 starts off with a bang for me. I'm supposed to be off today, but the flooring issue continues and the team can't get into the office today, so I am working from home to support them. Also, today is what would have been my youngest child's 34th birthday. I'm doing ok emotionally this year, but sad today. Also sad that we can't continue his traditional birthday dinner due to Covid. So we are switching up to take out from his favorite take out and a Zoom meet up to toast him as we do every year. So cheers to him.

QoTD: Protein, calories, carbs. I'm not supposed to be worried about calories yet, but after 40 years, it's totally ingrained in me and I can't help it. I aim for 60+ grams of protein first, try to keep it under 40 net carbs and try to be right at 1000 calories. That pretty much has me bouncing in a 2 pound window and comfortable. But at only 14 months out, I know that my body may change up and I'll have to adapt. I am much lighter than anyone ever thought I would be, including the doctor, but my body seems to like it here. So much less pain. So much more strength and balance and endurance.

Menu:

B: turkey and light string cheese

L: leftover chicken thigh and roasted onions

D: Panda Express. Picking beef and broccoli for my meal, but I damn sure will nibble at the orange chicken. It not only taste fabulous, it was my Kelly's favorite and I feel like I am touching base with him when I do these things. Weird, but comforting for me. 1 five ounce glass of wine for the toast.

Peace everyone!

Good for you and the family for adapting so you can toast your youngest on this hard day.

We do that for my late father's birthday - we go out for reuben sandwiches and carrot cake, his faves. I think it's a nice way to remember someone!

QOTD- I've gotten really lax about tracking my food. Actually I haven't done it for a while. I try to get at least 60g of protein a day and get in my water. I feel like I've spent my life being OCD about tracking and I just can't do it anymore.

I hear you JB about the exercise, since the weather has turned bad I haven't been doing anything. I know I feel much better when I get my walking in, and I dread the treadmill and haven't made myself do it. I'm so lacking in motivation right now.

I've been obsessed with GOT and need to quit bingeing it. But with the gyms closed, and pretty much everything else it's hard to find anything to do.

My Mom is in the hospital and I'm not really sure what is going on. Now they think she may have an infection. I'm not sure what caused her INR to be so high, it's supposed to be 2 and it was 8. It's been good and she is tested monthly. At least she now realizes that she can't be on her own until this is resolved. I called my brother and told him, and of course he's saying she should sell her house and move into assisted living. I told him we are not there yet. She doesn't want to move out of her home, and can get in home care if needed. She's been doing fine by herself. And he isn't here, he's in CA so isn't the one who has had to deal with her.

Ducks lost, not a good end to the season. Seahawks won, and next week play the Rams in the playoffs. I would love to see them get back to the Super Bowl, but it's a game at a time. They've been inconsistent and you never know.

Have a great day everyone!

Sending you good thoughts for mom!

Do you have a tablet or some way you can watch GOT while you are walking on the treadmill? When I lived alone, I used to make a deal with myself that I would only watch TV while I was on the elliptical, so if a show was really good, and I wanted to watch another, I had to work for it! I don't do it anymore, since we watch tv together and the exercise equipment isn't in the living room, but it was a good habit that I wish I still had!

I second this! I have shows I will only watch if I'm on the equipment. It helps motivate!
