I am late to this post, but if you know you have scar tissue, I highly recommend seeing a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist. It was life changing for me. Both after my hysterectomy and following RNY. Be sure to follow up on any possible medical issue such as an ulcer, but especially with gatroparisis, a good therapist can solve a lot of issues !

Hi fellow WLS buddies. It sounds like my problems over the years. I had RNY on July 2, 2013. Within 3 months I was so sick and couldn't even hold down Water. This was my 1st Endoscope with a dilation. 2 months again another endoscope. I ended up having 5 Endo's with 4 dilations. I finally went to another Weight Loss Center. They did my last endo and dilation in January of 2015. A little back info. I am now almost 9 years out and just started having nausea after I eat. Sometimes it hurts no matter what I eat or drink. They did find an a staple in one test and found an ulcer. I had no pain with the ulcer. Only what is called dumping syndrome many times, just one bite to much or drinking to soon after I eat. Also, I am not above eating some bad stuff. I see my PCP next week and I'm getting a referral to go to Oregon Health Science University in Portland, Oregon. They have a great weight loss program. Hope they can find out is going on. I'm sorry you are having problems. By the way, if you have an ulcer ask them for Carafate it helped a lot.

Megan,

you need to see a gastric specialist.. someone who has ability to scope you. ASAP. Orig. surgeon would be best.

.. that is something physical ,possibly both stricture and ulcer. Ulcer results in hole somewhere-and it can be fatal./untreated.

If you have issue with seeing specialist...ie trouble getting in.One alternate is to go to an ER. Tell them your surgical history , that you are concerned about a stricture or ulcer,Have had a sudden change in your body's acceptance of food and burning pain and you do not have the guts to allow it to go untreated..lack of appetite, severe gas with any intake is definitely symptoms that needs to be addressed.

These are the symptoms i head off as they begin by taking a PPI, .. I take prevacid 30 mg( intermittently for gastritis episodes, i have had 2 that resulted in an intestinal twist.) I take as it was prescribed by a Internist years ago...for 5 days.I purchase 15 mg OTC,.. It works quickly. Usually 12-20 hours. I had one of the surgeries that was prior to the RNY- that included that procedure.. i also go on gastritis diet for 36 hours usaully rice only w/ ice water for same time. no colas no high sugar drinks , no juices.no citrus or tomatoes....

Well, you should get a hold of a gastroenterologist and have him check and do an MRI, CAT scan or X-ray with contrast very very soon! You could have adhesions, a blockage, etc and it needs to be checked out! Don't hesitate with your health.....ever! I pray it all turns out well for you. ?
