Thirty years ago I made the best decision of my life. At 298 lbs I had the RNY gastric bypass. Within one year I lost 160 lbs. For 15 years I successfully maintained at 140 lbs-a size 4. After a bout with cancer, menopause, depression, my weight slowly inched back to the 230s. Six months ago I made a promise to my self to use my tool properly. I have since lost 40 lbs with another 40 to get back to my goal wgt. I walk every day, eat 3 healthy meals no snacking. I am happier and healthier since putting myself first. Thirty years and my pouch is still working well.

Great post. Once the magic of surgery ends, it does come down to healthy eating and exercise to maintain the loss.

What a great post about the power of re-committing yourself and seeing results. It's never easy but always worth it!
