Mornin' All!

just a quick one for now because DH is getting ready to leave for work, and he's dropping me off on campus so I can retrieve my cell phone. I couldn't find it last night and figured it must have dropped out of my coat pocket or backpack when I was packing up to leave my class yesterday afternoon. Luckily, the class ended at 5:15, and the building is locked at 6:00, so figured it was still there. Then I remembered the Find Your Device app. Wasn't sure it would work since I've never used it and figured I'd have to put my phone settings in it in order for it to work, but nope - it found my phone right away. And it was definitely in that building! I emailed the building supervisor and he found it this morning. Whew!! An added bonus, I'll have to bus back home since I won't have my car, so I'll get an hour or so of walking in before hopping on the bus. Ta da! My exercise for the day!

QOTD: I've always used cash if my purchase is less than $10, unless I don't happen to have any cash with me (which is rare - but it's happened). My husband even charges things that are like $3. Drives me insane. I'm starting to use cash a lot more now that some places are starting to add a 3% surcharge to credit card purchases. Yes - I'm a tightwad....

B: chocolate "mousse" with fruit, coffee with half & half

AS: I'll have a protein shake when I get home.

L: salad with turkey and light dressing

MS: I'll be in (another) class during my usual snack time, so I'll take a protein bar with me

D: 1-2 chicken skewers with satay sauce

have a great day, everyone!

I also am a tightwad but like to think of it as being thrifty and a good consumer.

I've also used the cc% on the flip side, as a bargaining chip. When making a decent purchase like car repairs, I let them know that I'm paying cash so they can avoid the fees. It sometimes results in not paying tax since the owners just pocket it.

Do you have a good recipe for satay sauce or a brand you like?

I'm not sure if I've ever made satay sauce, oddly... This one was left over from that memorial event I went to for my friend who died...so not sure where it came from.

Happy you found your phone. That would have been a major bummer if you did lose it.

I know! Fortunately I transferred my pictures over to my laptop about a month ago, so I wouldn't have lost too many of those - and none I would have cried over - but my contact list - yikes! That would have been a real pain to lose!

Good morning all and Happy Tuesday,

QJB - You be killin' it!

Man, this winter's weather has been great for us so far. I don't think we've had 6in of snow once yet.

My father finally got transferred to his new ? yesterday. The process was agonizing. Holy Family acute care never contacted us about issues that arose with the transfer. We had to call at 9pm to find out that he made it ok and his status update. Not a promising start.

QOTD - I do still use cash but don't carry any amount unless I have a specific reason. This has actually resulted in me holding a few bucks at home since it's much easier to grab a twenty or singles. I always have a strap of singles on hand. I go through approx 15 singles a week.

B: Dannon Light and Fit Coconut, Tangerine.

L: PP shake (It was like Xmas yesterday. I thought I didn't have any shakes left. My aide put a few next to my toiletries when they wouldn't fit in the fridge. Yesterday, was the first time in 3 weeks that I was able to squeeze in a couple hours of help.)

D: Hoping to stop at the Jewels and pick up quick protein. Otherwise, I'll cobble something together when I get home later tonight.

Good morning from Las Cruces,NM. One star. Do not recommend. Leaving in an hour and glad to be doing so. I'm a bit surprised nothing was stolen during the night and was very grateful to have brown dog and his protectiveness on board last night. I did good on food yesterday, making all three meals myself, but I did have wine.
Today we need to go off path a bit to run down rig batteries and a key we broke and then will be in Van Horn, TX, tonight. But starting Thursday we have lots of fun, family and adventures lined up for 6 or 8 days in a row.

QoTD: I love cash and always have an envelope of it stuck somewhere. Sometimes I'll go shopping and take a limited amount of cash and no credit cards and then my budget for the day can't be broken. I recently reimbursed a friend with about $240 in cash and he was like "WTH am I supposed to do with this?"

menu

B. 1 egg, over medium, the last bites of my to die for cornbread from Tempe

L. Looking for a highly recommended Torchy's for a taco

D. Hamburger Pattie's with a bit of cheese and a few tater tots

Too bad about your Las Cruces. Nice that it was only for one night and not planned for longer stay.

Great idea to take cash and leave the cards at home when shopping. It would definitely keep you in line with your spending.
