Good morning, everybody!

I still haven't heard any results from my sleep study. I think the Doctor is waiting until second semester tuitions are due before he lets me go. Or he is having separation anxiety.

The first day of schooling went as well as could be expected. But there are still two issues to be resolved. The easy one is his lab from the summer. He took an online summer course that has a lab. Since it was offered online during summer, there was nobody to proctor the lab portion of the class, so he completed the lecture and is doing the lab this semester. There did not appear to be any way to sign up for just the lab, so he signed up for the whole class again. Somebody need to tell him what to do. Maybe its drop the class and just show up to lab.

The more difficult one is that his concentration (integrated circuits) requires 4 classes. Of course two of them are offered at the same time (and only during that time). The professors realize that this is a problem and have already been working on getting other classes approved for the 4. Of these, my son is signed up for two. If the 4 recommended by the professors are allowed then my son has already done exactly what he needs with no further action. If only one of the particular classes is approved, he will lose his computer engineering minor because it can't be applied to both the minor and the concentration.

The worst case scenario is that none of the 4 are approved. In that case, my son won't be able to have a concentration. And if you don't have a concentration, you have to take Thermodynamics. Which I understand to be a difficult, often failed course. Not one you want to take in your last semester. Hopefully, this all works out as the professors have suggested.

I have a dentist appointment today. Hopefully, we can get everybody on for Happy Hour tonight because next week will be cancelled for the holiday.

QOTD: Two under my head. My knees are bony, so if I sleep on my side I need something between them. Either a third pillow or a blanket does the trick.

Breakfast: English muffin

Lunch: Chili

Dinner: Lamb

Have a great day, all!

it's just flat-out weird that they offered the course in the summer without the lab, and then didn't offer a way for the students to do the lab portion without signing up for the whole damn course again. Someone in the dept clearly didn't think this through. I hope they're not going to charge him for this course (although since he's full time and if the tuition for full-timers is flat rate (which it is at most schools if you're taking at least 12 credits), then the money part probably wouldn't be an issue. But still. The least they could have done is let the students who took the course in the summer how to get the lab portion in. Sheesh!

Good morning all and Happy Wednesday,

I love this news item. Google pays Apple 35% of revenue for being the default search engine on Safari's browser. I love that this juicy detail 'slipped out' from a government witness in the Anti-Trust case and the lawyer actually cringed when it was said.

QOTD- I sleep with 4 pillows. One under my head, one on each side of my ribs, an a back pillow underneath my knees.

B: Dannon Light and Fit Coconut Yogurt.

L: baked potato skins with all the feeexens.
