Whenever I want to steam something in the shower, I remember that story of you forgetting the item in the hotel shower when you went out for dinner with coworkers/friends.

Yeah, but then I might feel compelled to iron clothes with it. I'm just not willing to take that risk.

Good morning ~ It sounds like you had a lovely weekend and really enjoy what you do and being busy. I know I feel my best when I am busy - active and productive but at my core I want to be so lazy. I saw one of my sisters on Saturday for a quick visit and that smacked the lazy right out of me - seriously. She is only 62 and recently, she got sick probably the flu. She was instantly so weak that she couldn't move on her own and needed her husband to take care of her - literally everything you can imagine. Sounded par for flu to me, but she said it was more than that. It was because she is so sedentary and has been for years that she has no muscle tone making her incredible weak in general. She has no social life to speak of, doesn't work, home 24/7, not active, no exercise. She literally reads and smokes all day. She is my mother. Anyway - that revelation kicked my ass and I've been busy-busy/extra mile ever since. I do not want to ever feel like that if I can help it. Perspective, if you don't use it, you lose it - literally. Scary, right?

We had a lovely Sunday with the kids - We made a huge pot of Mexican style soup - a very hearty mix of chicken tortilla and taco soup w/toppings of cilantro, onions, avocado, sour cream and salsa. It was delish and the kids begged me to take some home and I couldn't help but give them all the leftovers! Today, I'm honestly not feeling well and need to go to urgent care as I'm positive I have a sinus infection. I have to go to work and take care of some things first, then I'll go. I didn't exercise today yet - my head is pounding but I will not let a day go by without doing something. I'll hop on the treadmill when I get home or take little girl out. I'm on a roll and especially now because of my sister...

QOTD - Fun fact - I was a Travel Agent for a short time in the late 80's! 100% agree with Jen - direct flights - if not leave plenty of time between, earlier the better just in case and you definitely get what you pay for!

Accountability - My son brought over his grandma's cookies from her 80th b-day party and I ate a ton. 178.8 today - weight creeping up as my resolve goes down. Damn it! New week - get it together, Amy.

B- coffee, yogurt and protein granola or eggbeaters and cheese

l - turkey and cheese sando on protein bread

d - Leftover of all the things - carnitas or chicken

Have a great day!

It is sad how quickly older people can go down. It's important to do as much as you can, as long as you can, even though everyone's "as much" will be different. Hope the urgent care gets you fixed up.

Truth right there. From this perspective, it makes staying active more important than just dreaded exercise to aid with weight loss, it's quality of life. I'm so glad she told me because it's the kind of thing she normally wouldn't share. Is she going to change? Probably not, she seemed resigned but I will.

Maybe you can talk about the changes we made and how it has changed the quality of life for us. Also let her know that surgery is not always the answer but if the doctor is willing to put her on a glp-1 for diabetes. I never thought I would see so many of my relatives thriving but at the wedding this weekend I ran into 5 older cousins all on Ozempic and all are down well over 80-100 lbs. They all talked about moving more and eating less. But you know her better than me if it is something you could talk to her about or not.
