The only time my pouch closes up is when I am really pissed off about something.
How are you trying to up load the picture? Are you going to the plus sign in the pink square in the top right corner? If you click on that you can upload a photo, then in the message got to add photo.
I have a fear of heights also, but as long as I'm not dangling over something I can usually control myself.
