What's on your Tuesday Menu?

Good Tuesday Morning Gang. Yesterday was a super busy day at work. Day 1 of the outage is off to a good start. One new hire started yesterday and the other started today, so I'm doing onboarding with them this week.

Mother nature is all messed up this week. We are back into the 80's and by Friday morning we are supposed to have frost. I'll have to check and see what plants I need to cover since I'm still getting peppers and tomatoes. I'll have to pick the rest of my herbs and hang them to dry. I can't believe this year is almost over.

QOTD: Do you like explore unique and unusual things? I love going to explore old things. I'm taking Halloween off so Irvin and I can go to an underground prison that will filled with carved jack 0 lanterns. The prison was originally a copper mine in the early 1700's. When it closed the government of CT bought it and turned it into a prison. I'm actually really excited to go.

Good morning all and Happy Tuesday,

It's currently rainy, dark, and depressing outside this morning. The weather matches my current mood.

I don't want to get into politics of the current environment but thought someone might appreciate an experience in one of the targeted neighborhoods for mass deportation.

It's really tough right now. I'm having a relapse with PTSD, due to ICE / CBP Wreaking Havoc in my neighborhood every day. Throughout the day, there are gov't helicopters flying overhead, unmarked cars speeding around, with unidentified people with masks jumping out with semi-automatic weapons throughout the day. Everyone is on edge and staying inside. The next block over, a Black, 72 year old, American citizen was zip tied by ICE and detained for hours over the weekend and then released. I'm dumbfounded how this could happen in America. I never thought our rights as Americans could be compromised so quickly and easily.

Friday, children from the local elementary schools were confronted on school grounds, which is known as a safe zone, by firearm brandishing, uniformed ICE officers. These children are scared and scarred from the interactions and they definitely delivered the message to their parents to get the **** out of America. For most kids, this is the first time in a contemptuous situation with the authorities and they did not have their parents with, to protect them. We now have neighborhood monitors on every block to make sure school children can get to/from school without being accosted. I'm off right now to walk a couple blocks away to stand on the corner, smile, say hi, and pretend like everything's ok as children walk to school.

Sorry to be a big bummer. Unfortunately, it's the current reality for me and others while we normally live in peaceful neighborhoods, co-existing with people of all shapes, colors, believe and walks of life.

Anyway, today is a gift that will never happen again. This is real life and it's not all roses, puppy dogs and rainbows. This too shall pass. I'm trying to be optimistic but also a realist. I am so grateful to even have these issues. To me, these are wee problems compared to many other countries of the worlds' human beings. We have fundamental rights. I am so lucky to have been born in the right place at the right time to the right ethno demographic parents, with these advantages.

I feel you on the ICE thing. This isn't the America I used to know. I am scared for my neighbors and my fellow humans. I hate the term illegal alien. They are freakin human beings. So much to say. Stay as strong as you can. You're right not all things are rainbows and sunshine.

not much going on today. I'm hoping to stay home until we have to take my mom's cousin to PT this afternoon.

i'm kind of numb right now. My mom's **** is stressing me out and all the issues of the world are weighing heavy on me as well. Over stimulated to say the least. I saw images of children...babies...zip tied. WTF? Why is that ok with people. Didn't mean to jump on Mike's topic but it's been hitting me hard too. All sides of my neighbors are Hispanic and with the exception of one are good...no...great people. I wish we lived in a world where where people valued all human life and not just what they deem ok to like. It's just so upsetting.

QOTD: I do to some extent. I don't like horror houses or the like. I hate things that make me jump react. I love museums and art shows.

Finally managed the three day drive to NYC ( about 3 weeks ago honestly) . Have been hesitant to post - had a pretty bad experience last time and it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Had to relocate here due to house emergency. Because I neglected her ( including the grounds ) for many months there is a threat of demolition ! ??

There are people in power who want to force a sale ( to their friends lol) immediately so they can buy her for pennies on the dollar ( the stick is the bulldozers can come as early as October 11th I kid U not ).

Of course I hired a land use attorney and am fighting back any way I can .

Living arrangements r dicey - the gov recently forced turn off of electricity n water ( despite my being a critical care patient ) so Im living by lantern, w no heat no refrigeration ( grrr) and no way to flush the toilet or shower ( or even make tea) .

But Im eating away at the overgrown vegetation day by day ( see the results ) cleaning the animal damage inside and hoping the sump pump / french drain system in the basement not working doesnt result in 8 feet of flooding lol.

Food wise I feel like a bag lady pretty much eating out of my car , throwing out perfectly good but spoiled food ( what a waste ! ? every day) .

But there may be good news ! I found a great apartment in NYC - praying I get accepted . Terriffic view and location - trying hard today to get the keys .

Weight is down a bit thanks to the constant landscaping exercise - breathing and sleep are good - food is not planned but tiny amounts of whatever I crave ( pouch is still minuscule ) - two bites here two bites twenty minutes later . Cant finish a sandwich or the meat off two chicken wings if that gives U an idea.
