Happy Monday Gang!! Another week is upon us. At least it will be a short week. I have to get my list together for the stuff I'm making for Thanksgiving. It was so cold this weekend that I didn't feel like doing much of anything so just cleaned in the house and took my cans/bottles to the redemption center and go $48.80 for them.

QOTD: What do you normally have for Thanksgiving dinner? I've always had turkey or a turkey breast for dinner along with mashed potatoes, turnip, butternut squash, little boiled onions, cranberry sauce, stuffing, gravy, and biscuits.

B: Coffee and Protein shake

L: wedding soup and a salad

D: chicken marsala

Hitting the Y for a water aerobics class.

Have a great day everyone!!

Mornin y'all.

sorry for missing so much last week.

Not much happening today. I have to call and reschedule my mammogram that is supposed to be tomorrow, I am having some serious pain when I lift my arm like you need to. I am hoping to get some stuff around the house done. We shall see on that.

QOTD: it's slimmed down now but used to be a big deal. Fried okra, pickles, olives, cheese tray. We don't do any of that besides olives. This year my SIL is bringing coleslaw. Yeah I don't get it either. We're not doing Mac & cheese either this year. Turkey, ham, sweet potatoes, corn and green chili casserole, mashed potatoes, rise and bake rolls, cranberry sauce(I'm going to make a much less carb heavy version for me). Dessert is pumpkin pie, brownies, and lemon pie. Maybe something else...who knows,

food is unplanned. Haven't had breakfast yet.

Yeah, coleslaw? Is she planning on bringing KFC too? Actually, their gravy is really good. Probably 90% chemicals, but tasty chemicals.

Sorry your shoulder is so bad today, don't overdo it around the house.

Beautiful jewelry creations! The earrings look like they'd be heavy but I bet they're not.

Hi, sorry to be MIA so long. Stupid Nutritionix is still down on the web, it has really thrown me off. Joined myfitnesspal .com it is as clunky as when it was new and overreaching now too with apparently no way to turn that feature off. I gave it two days and quit. The app version of Nutritionix is acting all buggy now, sigh. I may go back to paper and pen. Been doing batch cooking and portioning to help myself.

We aren't doing Thanksgiving this year, the MIL has claimed it. Hubby dislikes turkey anyway. We're having a tree trimming party on the weekend. It will be a very scaled-back meal. I think there is a turkey breast in the freezer plus many hams (why I bought so many I don't know...fun with food addiction!). Yesterday I found the frozen cranberries and a eye of round roast so hopefully we'll have two meat choices. (Hubby has vetoed the ham. Going to see if my church's food bank would take a few.)

What I used to cook when I got to host was turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cornstarch gravy, sweet potatoes, asparagus, green salad, relish tray, homemade rolls, Russian Cream with fresh fruit, homemade cranberry sauce, corn casserole, mulled cranberry and cider, pumpkin pie, apple pie or cranberry cheesecake and a batch of cheater's fudge as a Christmas pre-show. Pretty much a heart attack in the making. And any dish containing gluten has to be made in a gluten free version too. Luckily we don't have super sensitive Celiacs so I can cook everything carefully in my kitchen. It was my joy to cook so much and send home generous containers of leftovers with everybody.

This week is all prep and putting up the tree with lights today. We have to clean massively before having my SIL over, he is allergic to cats, poor guy. Hope you all stay bundled up, I understand you are due some nasty cold weather. Brrr! Our high is 40 this week and chances of snow. Cold enough for me!

My SIL's mom is a hard to deal with. It's all about her. But she ignores my nieces and nephew. She doesn't think my brother is good enough for their family. We usually get thanksgiving and Christmas without an issue because the MIL doesn't really want to spend it with em. I am not impressed with em all as my SIL is the only one without a DUI....

i am making fudge before my surgery as my brother loves the peanut butter kind I make. It should be interesting on me stirring it lol.

We're almost done with decorating, thank goodness!

Well being originally from ( thrifty) Communist Hungary where pretty much everything has been organically grown for 10,000 years ( including meat) -

I just stuff and roast a little but delicious free range organic chicken .

The skin gets extra crispy from so called non heart attack inducing half boar half pig " Malanyica" bacon ... and I roast baby vegetables alongside her

. Fresh gravy is made from the separated juices and roux n ff half n half .

Fat free ( but Ud never know it ) homegrown green bean casserole w buttery creamy trumpet or morel mushroom sauce and fresh fruit very low or no sugar strudels of various kinds usually popyseed/ morello cherry and apricot/ pecan .

Coffee n tea aftrwards w ff whipped cream n liquors like Frangelico :)

N a LONG walk !

If we have guests I might bake a clove studded apricot glazed Polish Krakus ham - but thats usually too much leftovers - better to have it on my birthday or at Christmas !

Ate like a champ yesterday n today - lots of fresh mozarella cheese , olive bread and hard cider . Also half a large sized payday bar .
