Good morning!! So happy it's Wednesday and the weekend is coming. We will have a full 8 am to midnight day on Saturday but somehow it always still feels better when it's a work at home Saturday.

Accountability: I've been very good at sticking to plan and any swaps I make because as I look at my plan for the day I feel like the calories or carbs are too high, so that's a good thing! I am seeing things in my food planning/log that make better choices -- like, I really enjoyed the new cherry flavored skyr but the sugar/carb combo means it can't be an every day choice.

QOTD: I decorate for Christmas inside and with a laser light show on the garage; but I do have season front door wreaths that I swap out regularly. Something about a pretty wreath on the door makes the house seem welcoming to me!

Time since surgery: 6 weeks

B: Coffee and fair life

S: Kraft string cheese

L: .5 PP

S: .5PP

D: home made protein shake or TBD (I have a friend coming into town and can't remember if we're meeting tonight or tomorrow to catch up. If we are meeting and go to dinner, I will stick to a soup.

Totals - 491 Calories, 81 protein, 18 carbs

V: on track

E: technically rest day but I'll get a walk in somewhere

Topic: RE: How much food can you eat at one sitting?iI

I'm a few days behind you and pretty much in the same boat -- if it's actual food (egg, meat, cheese) only about 3 oz if I eat slow. I can get through a whole greek yogurt or skyr but it takes about an hour.

Although I could have them if they are soft, I still haven't moved past proteins to add veggies yet, still focusing on moving from mostly liquid proteins plus a meal to 2 meals plus the liquid proteins.

My RD said I can switch to non-chewables at 6 months, I can't wait. I've had to take a few tylenol since I started working out again and swallowed those with no problems but definitely think few more months for the vitamins, they are so big!

Good morning!! The week is off to a good start and I'm looking forward to a good work out in a few and a productive Tuesday.

Accountability: Doing well, all required protein and fluid****!

QOTD: I have three nieces (16, 12, and 8) and I am constantly in awe of how confident and self possessed they are. I had none of their confidence when I was there age and watching the women they are becoming makes me smile constantly...of course, then they get together in a gaggle and are ear piercing and silly and I remember that they are very similar to me and my sisters at the same ages.

B: Egg bites

S: coffee with fairlife

L: cherry blackcurrent skyr (i have been haunting my local Sprouts and so excited they FINALLY got this new flavor in)

S/D Salted caramel protein testing -- I ordered the same flavor in pea protein and whey protein from True Nuitrition. I"m going to do a half shake in each for my snack and dinner and see how I like them.

Total: 61 protein, 508 cal and 25 carbs

Vitamins - I forgot to take my night dose last night so I'm a little annoyed. Thinking about moving them earlier in the evening. Morning dose is ready to go!

Good morning!! Happy Monday to everyone!

QOTD: I like having a bit of quiet time when I wake up in the morning; while it's still cool here in the mornings, I like to sit on my patio and have my first glass of water or my coffee.

B: Egg bites with sausage

Exercise - 30 minutes on treadmill and walking group tonight - should end up around 3.5 miles between the two.

I just thought of something, my grocery store does stock some single servings of fair life -- in where the single servings of chocolate milk are. I'm not sure I've seen the skim milk version there but you could check --that way you could try it without the commitment to a full bottle!

I've never tried lactaid. To me it tastes just like skim milk, I don't notice anything odd about it.

I don't know if you would tolerate it, but I drink the Fairlife skim milk - it's high protein and lactose free.

Thank you for this!!

I can see that I'm very lucky with my RD and the program here -- they literally crossed out all the pasta, grains, crackers, potatoes, as well as all the SF popsicles, puddings, et****il after the 18th week and said that by then I shouldn't want them anymore so don't add them back in. They are very much a protein first, veggies if you are still hungry after you hit your goals rule set. From what you are saying, their strictness will help me in the long run.

Happy Sunday! Finally going to have a productive day -- made breakfast, got my workout in, loaded the dishwasher and sorted and started the laundry. While I"ve been in recovery mode, the house has just gotten in disarray and it's stressing me out. Not going to get it all back up to par in one day but I'll get some big things done today and then one area/room/option each day this week. I'm also going to whip up a batch of egg bites for the week.

QOTD: the project that I'm working on the most right now is organizing a week log trip for 4 friends and I to Iceland. We're going end of May and I'm trying to put together the itinerary and all the lodging reservations. Planning trips is one of my favorite things to do!

menu:

B: egg with .7 oz cheddar cheese, scrambled

S: fair life and coffee

L: .5 PP

S: .5 PP

D: egg bite

It feels like a ton of food but it's a bit light on protein, I'll have to punch it up a bit somewhere, maybe with a protein water.

Good luck!!! Sounds like you have done all you can do to prep for success. I took my kindle and some magazines but because of the IV meds, I think i just read the same page over and over and over again, lol. Don't forget your charger for your phone, and if you want to, get a picture of yourself on surgery day. I forgot to do that!

Thank you! Literally, the only one that I knew/remembered was the no calcium/iron at the same time. This will be simple once I get it down but complicated right now.

Hi all - I was waiting for my coffee to make and while I was standing by the coffee pot, I took my chewable multi and my calcium chew. And then I started wondering if I need to take them away from any liquids, like we do food, to make sure they don't get flushed out too fast? My NP said to take the iron away from the calcium but I don't remember any guidelines on vitamins and liquids.

Topic: RE: What's on your menu today (Photo Friday) RNYers?

Happy Friday! So glad to get to today -- this week has worn me out more each day! I even skipped bookclub last night because I couldn't keep my eyes open (and closed eyes is no way to drive!) Wisely, I didn't plan much for the weekend, I have a massage scheduled and really need to do some housework/laundry but should have the chance to recharge. I am going to do a bit of cooking this weekend so I have some ready food for the week -- need to keep making strides from the liquid(y) to the food diet. Also, I think the Sam's club sale on PP ends today so I want to go pick up a few more cartons.

Accountability - right as planned for food, a bit low on water as I took too long to drink my protein coffee.

QOTD - I could never work in a job that was isolated. I really need to be around people for energy. I have people that are full time remote workers and I don't know how they do it -- two or three days in a row at home and I'm stir crazy.

B - 1.8 oz chopped deli roast beef and 1 oz chopped cheddar

S - protein coffee

L - .5 Chocolate PP

S - .5 Chocolate PP

D - unk -- maybe i'll make up some egg bites and have one

V - on track

E - an hour on treadmill while watching crap TV will end the week quite nicely!

Have a great Friday and weekend everyone!
