I have the new Laura Ingalls bio Prairie Fires to read once I can focus on something more than 100 words long. I'm hoping that soon, since Wednesday I've had the attention span of something with a very short attention span.

JuniperBerry -- I love your hobbit meals! I liked Big Train spicy chai but I didn't know they had a fit version, so I'm excited to check that out in the future.

It hasn't been the worst thing ever -- I haven't had sweetened beverages in years before this week and I find I need to brush my teeth 4-5 times a day because they feel sugar-coated. I look back to when i was a soda drinker and wonder how i managed all those dr peppers every day!

I love the quote! It's so true. Today is my last day of gatorade only-- so it's what's on the menu today and then I'm pretty sure it will never cross my lips again!

I was really sad when I had to leave the hospital still taking the diabetes meds; I know they said that it takes time but I read that "some" people do get to get off right away. The poor resident, I cried when he told me. The good news is as of yesterday, I am off!! I'm very excited about that..now just looking forward to getting off the gatorade only portion of recovery.
It's fascinating to me how different all the pre-op/post-op instructions are!

HI and Congratulations! I had mine on Wednesday also for the same reason. Hope you are doing well, I'm finally starting to feel like a human (albeit an easily tired one) again!

So I had my bypass on Wednesday, everything went well; home on thursday. I've been very surprised at how much pain there was and how tired I am but every day I can feel it getting a bit less. I had mostly been worried about would I be able to get the required liquids in every day and that's been easier than I expected! I'm just trying to walk when I"m up, rest when I need to and manage the pain and liquids in between those two things. So far so good.
