Can u answer this

My spouse recently had gastric lap-band surgery and is scheduled for his saline fill shortly. I understand from information I have received that patients should stay away from alcohol for at least a year post surgery. My husband is a social drinker and has indulged since his surgery, with no side effects. I am very worried, should I be?

I can only give you my personal advice and opinion. I have not heard to stay away from alcohol with the lap-band...gastric bypass-YES. Alcohol is empty calories...but it might effect the person more intensely and quickly as there is not as much food to counter act the alcohol.
