going to seminar saturday

hi,my name is tom good. i live in sparta,tn .i way 330 lbs im 5ft10 and im 38,im disabled with back problems,after stopping work a few years back i discovered i am a diabetic 2,ive had highblood pressure since the age of 17, i have tried diets,excise,pills etc,.i have talked to my family doctor about this surgery,hes supportive if i decide to go through with it,because of my medical history and my battle with obesity.going to Nashville for Dr. Houstons seminar on saturday.sure would like to hear your imput.thanx tom

Hi Tom, I am a patient of Dr Houston, I had my surgery in 2004. Dr H is a very caring and knowledgeable surgeon. He is very serious about the surgery and will help you, if you help yourself. I suffered from about 6 comorbidities and now the only one that still bothers me is hypothyroidism (controlled with meds) and fibromyalgia. I did take 4 shots and 4 pills a day for diabetes before I had the surgery, since 6 weeks after the surgery, I have not had to take anything for it and my fasting blood sugars are in the 70 range. I also had high blood pressure, and also no longer have a problem with that, take no meds for it. I would say that Dr H is one of the most thorough surgeons around, but all of the docs at Centennial are wonderful. There are boards on here where you can see reviews on the surgeons. Hi Tom and welcome to the board! I had open gastric bypass on Dec. 11...Dr. Houston was my doc and I am very glad I made that choice. I do not think you will be dissapointed in choosing Centennial if you decide to go with them...let us know how it goes and good luck with everything!
