Not sure if you would consider this a WOW. I had mixed emotions about it really. Way back when I was younger my step mother and I did not get along. She used to harrass me about my size and weight all the time and make snide remarks that hurt me deeply. Well things have changed and as I grew older I guess we learned to accept each other and became closer. Well I was at church with my dad and step mother and my step mom walks up to me and hugs me and tells me I look beautiful. We were sitting next to each other and she leans over and says " If you have any pretty things in size 18 we can share." Wow I had been so used to be larger than her it struck me that we are now the same size!!! Granted 18's are a little tight for me right now but the over whelming feeling I had I can not explain. I am just wondering how it will be for her when and if I ever get smaller than her?? Hmmmm makes you wonder huh? : )

I'm glad your relationship with her has changed for the better. Just think of how you will feel when you can pass on your 18s to her because they are too big for you!! You will become smaller than her...unless she gets on the stick and starts working on her weight!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA! That is a Wow moment!

Susan, Just love your wicked sense of humor! I think passing on clothes that are to big would kill her. Thanks for your support!

Good Morning Juanita! You are doing soo great. You are in a size 18. That is fantastic. That is a major WOW moment. I am glad your step mom has come around and you guys are closer. I would also be concerned on how she is going to act when you do get smaller than her. I hope she does not begin to act nasty toward you agian. Hopefully, she will continue to be proud happy for you like we all are. If she does start acting up, do not let it bother you. Just know that it is because she obviously has some of her own issues that she needs to work out. Keep up the great work. I know your one year is in the next couple of weeks. What a crazy year of changes - huh? Misty

Hey Misty! I have the same fears that maybe her attitude will change. I really hope it won't. The past year has been full of changes it sometimes is hard to catch up mentally. I pulled out an album yesterday and saw my before pic and couldn't believe the change. I used to be so miserable and now it's hard to remember feeling that way. My year is coming up this Friday. I want to post my before pic and a resent "after". Hope you are feeling better??

Juanita, I know it felt wonderful to hear her say that to you. I have always tried to make people happy in my life, however there are some people that you may not be able to satisfy. Therefore you need to continue focusing on your ultimate goal and not worry about what her reaction may be. Until then, just pray and maybe she will realize how hard you have worked and things will be just fine. I will keep you in my prayers, Shelia

Thank you Shelia for your thoughts and prayers. Don't worry I still have my goal in sight and am not giving up by no means! I appreciate your prayers.

Hey Sue, I know how you feel sweetie. I lost my mom at a very young age of 15. I often think how she would feel or react to my weight loss. I know your mom is looking down on you and very proud of your acheivements.

Juanita, that sounds like a WOW moment to me. I'm sure it took a lot for her to swallow her pride and admit that. But you are so pretty! She ain't lyin, girl! I'm happy for you, and perhaps this is a good step in the right direction to make things more smooth in your family... thanks for sharing.
