Liquid Diet
Oh..ok. I was wondering about that. No eating for an enntire month? Is the person doing this diet with you your PCP or a weight loss surgeon/clinic. It really does not sound like a healthy plan for someone that has not had WLS and it sounds like the person recommending this "diet" may not be very familiar with WLS. I know about the liquid diet before surgery and I am aware of some pople having to do their pre-surgery diet getting one meal a day. But I have never heard of them combining them and doing a whole month just to force you to lose weight for insurance approval - and to "PROVE" to them that you are dedicated?? Of course you are dedicated but it does not take a Dr to make you become aneroxic to prove it and essentially that is what this PCP is doing. I am sorry, that just doesnt seem right to me. I understand you have to lose the weight and I hope you are sucessful and can get approved but I really think that someone pre WLS should not do that type of "diet" just to lose weight because it is fairly unhealthy and you need to be monitored closely. Also, it will be difficult to keep off the weight you do lose because as soon as you start eating agian, your body will store it. I am not trying to be negative but I am worried about you doing this "diet". I know how much you need to lose the weight to get insurance approval and I am rooting for you and I know you can do it but please keep getting monitored so you stay healthy!!! Good luck.
