Not talking about the tv show here! LOL I just had my one year visit with Dr. McDowell and we talked about plastic surgery.  I'm looking into more and more having the total body lift.  I know I definitely need my lower half lifted so if there is such thing as a lower body lift that would be great.  I also want implants.  Has anyone explored the cost?  What about surgeons? Dr. McDowell reccommended one to me that I may look into.  How much will the initial consultation cost? Any more info I need to know? Thanks!

Dr Donald Griffin was my Dr for plastic surgery.  He was great and his staff is wonderful too.  His consult is free, which is nice as well.  He will be truthful to you and tell you what procedure will be best for you.  I will use him again it I need more.  He did my trunck lepictomy, face and neck lift.  I was very happy. Hi! I do believe there is such a thing as an LBL (lower Body Lift). I am not sure of the cost though. I had only looked into getting my arms done and a tummy tuck to remove my excess skin. Luckily it could all be done from the sides and front and a whole thing was not needed. Most will give you a free initial consult. At least the couple I checked into did. Just make sure you check a few and don;t settle on the first one. Usually the cost is better if you can get it done at the same time and if all you want is a LBL and a BA, then you should be able to get those two done at the same time and it will save you money. Good luck on your search and I hope you are able to do it. I really want to do it when I can.

I am having the LBL (lower body lift) done on February 7th. It will consist of a belt abdominoplasty with mid-line incision, muscle repair, and mons reduction. I'm also having a hernia repaired at the same time. They will bill my one night hospital stay to insurance for the hernia. I also got a discount on the anesthesia due to having an insurance billable procedure done at the time of PS. My cost is $10,927. I had always planned on pulling money from my retirement to cover what insurance wouldn't. I learned that my insurance does not cover any cosmetic/plastic surgery except to repair a birth defect or deformity caused by accident or injury so I'm footing the entire bill. The plastic surgeons I talked to all had a consultation fee that they would bill to insurance if there was a billable procedure for them to tack it onto. Consultation only was $75 without ins billing. You want to make sure the surgeon you choose is experienced in working on formerly morbidly obese patients. We have special considerations that most other PS patients don't have. If you don't want to post the name here, PM the name of the surgeon Dr. McDowell recommended and I'll let you know if I know anything about him/her.

Thanks Misty & Susan! I may want to talk to you about this on Saturday night.  Chris has been interested in this as well.  Maybe I can drag him out on Saturday.  I'll be bringing some clothes by the way for those who need it!
