I did it...

I tried really hard to convince myself not to stop at the hospital to weigh but I did... On one hand... I have gained only one pound from before so that is good but... I am 416.2.  There I said it now I have to call and tell the nurse at the program:(... I am glad because I did think I had gained about 15... So a sigh of relief... I went to kroger and spent a bit more than normal... no milk... bought the Caltrate and some good cuts of meat and actually was happy with it. I got those steaks to cook for my b-day... ;) and some ribs to cook on my son's which is Tuesday. I just didn't feel like going out to eat so we will do it at home. He was sweet enough to say he dont want cake... he said he will have a dessert out with his gf. I need help though... I bought EAS protein drinks.... They were the cheapest at 2/10 and that gives me 8 of them. I need the lowest carb high proteins that are not nasty. Any suggestions? At least these have 17g of protein. I am going to try one at 10 when I take my pill... I missed my vitamin this morning because I ate on the road... Had to have my son on base by 7:30 for his GED. I had Mc D's :( but just the egg and sausage I threw away the biscuit and hashbrown. I am now armed with lots of better options. Including sugar free relish. Imagine that... On the way from Kroger I saw a sign... Learn to Fly... Hmmmmm. :)

I like the EAS Carb Control drinks. My favorite is the Cafe Caramel but not all Krogers carries that flavor. Good for you for getting rid of the biscuit and hash brown.

I got the Caramel. I like the Chocolate Fudge one... So did my cat she was trying desperately to get some and all she got was what was dribblin down the side the container after I poured it in glass...

Everyone has a starting point. Don't get discouraged. That will only make it worse. You can do this! You already proved that today when you thought it was going to be worse. I think the EAS are pretty descent as far as not having a bad after taste like some protein drinks. You can also try the slim fast (low carb ones). I liked those some before surgery but no so much after. Maybe you will like them although they are probably not as cheap. Don't forget the vitamins missy! Those are really important even without having surgery. Yes, it is so much more expensive to buy healthy groceries as opposed to bad groceries. And we wonder why obesity is growing. I found it cost a LOT more for healthier food but it is for a good cause. Good luck on your weight loss journey and happy early birthday.

Thanks... it has not been as hard as I thought. I mean yea when my mom was eating chips and cookies I was like I want some but I was able to pass on them easy. I like the EAS... so does my cat... long story. I am taking vitamins and calcium. I just hope I get a job soon so I can afford food... lol...

Hang in there Melissa!  You are heading in the right direction and that;s a good thing!  Like Misty said, "Everyone has a starting point".  It's all down hill from here, it might be a bumpy ride, but strewth that seat belt a little tighter and hang on.  We're praying for you!
