Approved? Really?

The insurance specialist from Dr. Spaw's office just called me.  She had faxed the letter from my PCP to the insurance company and the insurance company approved my surgery.  What?  THEY APPROVED MY SURGERY.  They hadn't sent the dietitians evaluation yet and I haven't even taken my psych eval (though I still will have to for Dr. Spaw) but they approved me anyway. I am thrilled and excited and terrified. I cried.  It has been a rough week because my ortho doctor had told me I couldn't start any kind of exercise program and I was feeling so discouraged. So from here I take the psych eval and then will go in and meet with Dr. Spaw, the dietitian, and the insurance specialist all in the same day and will get my surgery date. Did I mention I am terrified?

Blu****hink we've all cried at some point in this journey... mostly when we got that denial and/or approval.  It is such an emotional roller coaster!  But congratulations! Girl that is terrific...  you have worked so hard...  being terrified is normal.  How will life change?  What if...?  So many questions yet unanswered, truly it is an amazing journey.

Way to go!!!!  Here's my patented "Happy Dance"  just for you!

Congrats! That is so great! I am so jealous! I am just beginning the 6 month diet and am a long way from approval. I hope someday to be posting here as excited as you are with my approval behind me. I am so happy for you. PLease keep us posted on your journey. I originally wanted DS with Dr. Spaw but he doesn't take my insurance. I've heard about how good he is though. I wish you the best. Congratulations!  The day I got the "approval" call I cried too!  Melinda is so right in that it is very normal.  It is emotional to know that you are to the point in your journey where things are realized.  The closer I get to my surgery date the more anxious I am.  I wouldn't say "nervous" because I have complete confidence in the hospital and surgeon I have chosen.  And, my surgeon is a hottie... which helps matters LOL  You have been blessed chic...   Chandra

Congrats to you how exciting !!! Yep I say crying is normal, I did to when I got approved. I felt so many things at once it was a emotional roller coaster. I wish you all the best on your journey.
