One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest

Hey guys...  Hope you all are doing well...  I am gonna get caught up here in a little bit...  Looks like we have lots of good news going on....         Things have been a little crazy around here...  My baby turned 18 during one of the last lunch bunches....  His prom is Saturday.. so been busy with that, went to pick up the tux yesterday only to find they ordered the wrong color vest, so they have to rush another one out today after 5 pm so I get to go mix n mingle in the Rivergate 5:00 Friday traffic...  This week was senior night at his soccer game so Kevin and I were escorted on the field with him as they announced his accomplishments and future University plans...  Had to have another cry and break down there...      Graduation is the weekend I told Wendy Warren that I would ride on the rack of her beach mobile so Imma gonna have to get a rain check for that fun in the sun I am gonna miss....  But I am sure I will be receiving pictures of Ms. Barb riding on the roof....      Oh yea, while picking up the tux yesterday, Jacob says we need to run by Books A Million to pick up a book he needs for his English Lit. class.. I say sure, we go in and he gets "One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest".......  you know, I don't remember that book being on the approved literature list when I was in school.....    but it is a good read and he is 18 so I guess I wont get in my soccer mom mobile and go complain to the principal......                    However the title of the book does sum up my life for the past month or so.....   I say all of that to say this......  Life gets really hectic..  This time in life that should be so precious and a celebration of life and how hard Jacob and I worked to get to this point gets clouded with stress...  How did things get so backwards...    It throws a wrench into my eating schedule....  I find myself or others reminding me to breathe...  Thank God for my family and friends that are there to even notice that I have not been breathing...  I hope and pray that I can be sensitive to others when they are not breathing too well that day.....   One more thing...  Weight Loss Surgery was a God send to me...  I prayed and yelled out to God to help me...  I didn't want to go to Jacob's graduation having to be assisted to just get to my chair, and that once I got to my chair to watch him cross the stage to the music of Pomp and Cir****tance only to find that I could not fit in the chair..  Since losing 159 pounds I am proud and thankful to say that I will be climbing those stairs in that large auditorium unassisted and I will be sitting in my chair with a smile on my face and a peace in my heart.....   For those of you fighting for Weight Loss Surgery, I beseech you to not give up...  You fight with every fiber of your being and when you can not fight anymore, you keep fighting..... Hey Trina, I'll take your place on the roof with Barb.  I even have a rope and bungie cords so we won't fall off.  Skin is too pale need some coloring.  LOL I remember those days well.  Try getting it all done in 10 days.  That's what happened to my younger son.  He failed his senior year and was going to repeat it, but 10 days before graduation, his score came in that he passed the profencientcy test and would be graduating with 15 credits instead of 22.  His name wasn't on the program, or his senior mug.  I had to pay triple charges to get his cap and gown sent to us over night.  Glad we got thru it.  I wasn't obese then, I'm just glad it didn't cause me gray hair with the stress of it all.   You will make it as a proud parent, and he will be proud that he has a beautiful mom to show off.  Enjoy these last few days as he prepares to graduate.  Now he becomes an adult and will have to start making harder decisions then ever before. Love ya, Kathy

Kathy,   Um, okay, I will give you my spot on the beach mobile.  I was to be riding on the rack...  I could have been a rack riding fool.....LOL  But I will let you have my spot just this one time.... It's cause I like to share and all that...

Thank you for the kind words you spoke about my son....

Thanks Trina, I'll be sure to send you air photos, since I plan to be in the horizonal position. LOL   We'll even save the bird droppings just for you Trina.  I remember having to go to my first son's graduation in a wheelchair as I just had major surgery a week prior.  But we survived and I know that you and all the parents out there will be in tears of joy as they watch their son or daughter cross the plattform.  Trust me it's an truly remarkable feeling know you did something in helping them get to this point.  That you as a parent accually did something right in raising them.  That you as a parent are not failures.  What happens from here on out, they will have to take responsibility for their actions.  They can't blame the parent anymore for their mistakes.  Just pray that they make the right decisions in life and let them know you will always be there for them to even just listen when they are troubled.   Please tell your son congradulations, he's about to pass one hurdle in his life, the next hurdles are up to him and that God is there to guide him thru out his life. Love ya,
 Kathy Newton
