4 Month Checkup

Well, I went for my checkup on Tuesday.  The doctor was very pleased with my weight loss.  He drew blood and I am awaiting results.  He thinks I might be anemic again. He did tell me that I am not getting in enough calories, and that is why my weight loss has slowed.  He wants me to get at least a 1000 a day. The bariatric nurse specialist said I had my body in rescue mode with only 600 calories a day.  So, this week, I have been trying to increase it.  We'll see what the scales say tomorrow!   Also, I went to the support group at Gateway Medical in Clarksville while I was up there.  It was awesome!  Very educational and not aimed at only the pre ops like the ones that I have gone to here.  I am going to go back when I go for my July checkup.

Great job on your weight loss! I am getting close to my 4 month check as well. I can't wait to see what he has to say about mine!

I hope all your bloodwork comes back ok. Please keep us posted. It must be hard to be told to eat more after spending a lifetime trying to eat less. What a paradox. I wish you the best and hope you are able to get in more calories. Blessings, Karen

I've been wondering how you were doing this week. It's good to hear you had a good check up. Is Amy Lawrence still leading the Gateway support group? I went to several meetings there but, with the price of gas now, haven't been in a while.

Amy is on leave right now.  Cindi Webber is the Bariatric Nurse Specialist, and she is leading them for now. Marilyn

You are doing awesome, you have heard it before but here it goes again, you gotta do as the doctor says. I know I know, I should listen to what I say myself.......lol Hope you get good results from your lap work. Keep us posted. P.S. we have postponed our trip to your part of TN. we are waiting until Phil gets done with his IV meds and wound vac, we thought it would just be easier on us. We are coming, just don't know when, but I will keep you posted. Cheryl
