Well today went to the Plastic surgeon, was to be for the revision on the Breast reduction I had in 2004 but ended up talking about the removal of the pani as they call it, w/ the weigh loss Ive had the belly is huge w/ hang. But Ive got to get Medicare/ medicaid to approve. So Ive sent for medical necessity letters from my Drs and hope all will be joining in. But there saying because of the tummmy being so large the belly button is deep as well as me having issues already w/ it they wont be able to save it. Said it wont live. Just curious to know who or if you know of anyone w/ medicare/ Medicaid aprroved and or w/out the belly button, and any advice to getting approvals. I have had rashes in the belly button as well as bleeding.

No persoanl experiences here to tell Melinda but I wanted to wish you the best. I have heard of people who got new belly buttons so I believe it is something that does happen. Maybe try posting this on the plastic surgery forum and see what you get there. Courtney

Melinda , I just had my Belly Button removed . I look fine with out it . They can build me another one . And if they take it during the surgery , they can rebuild if you have the stump . That is what I am told . You need all your documentation from your PCP on any matters dealing with your skin . If the doctor writes the letter of necessity correctly , you should not have any issues . But one never knows . Best wishes to you , I hope you can get this done . I am 14 days out from my PS and I feel like a new woman . Hugs, Natalie

Hey there, Good luck on the PS. I am also getting ready, will start first with breasts and arms. That bothers me more than anything else right now. It seems like they can make you a new belly button, I have heard of that. Hang in there girl! Donut
