OT- Day 6 without smoking
Well, today has been Day # 6 without a cigarette! I only think about them a little bit--especially when I am in the car. I know this just comes from pure habit, so I've been keeping sf gum in the car. That seems to be helping.
I began taking the new Rx Chantix a while back. I did not quit on the particular day they want you to quit on, but i slowed waaaaay down. Gradually they just started to taste nasty, which is wonderful.
IF (and that's a BIG IF) I am able to continue being smoke-free, it will be the Chantix that did it. It REALLY takes your mind off smoking.
Smokers: Don't worry about me. I will NEVER be one of those holier than thou" ex-smokers.
Y'all have a fun and safe Memorial Day!

Congrats on quitting smoking. I am so proud of you. I recently quit also, April 7th was my day i stopped. I am like you I will never be one of those holier than thou type ex smokers either. Even though I don't like the smell of them now, I do let my hubby smoke in the car while I am driving. I don't think he should suffer just because I quit. He has cut wayyyyy down from where he was but has made it perfectly clear he doesn't want to quit and I respect his decision. So, in saying that, I commend your attitude and I hopeyou stay smoke free for the rest of your life. Good luck and hang in there.

Joann Im so proud of you!!!!!! You go girl I miss our dancers and clappers from the old board I dont like this one at all, But any way Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Im a lil concerned you say ( a Big If) leading me to think you didnt do this because YOU wanted to? I learned the hard way and hundreds of dollars I had to want this so be strong you will get through this. And I to said the samething I wasnt gonna be a holier than thou ex smoker lol, be careful, everything changed after your smokefree for a while you will get it after a while. I was just telling another one of (our) friends she needed to quit yesterday hehe she knows who she is. Love ya either way but congrats Joann quitting is a very hard thing to do.
JoAnn,
Congratulations on your dedication to a smoke-free life!
What a great gift to give yourself. I've not smoked, bu****ched my husband quit several times - this last one (a few years ago) seems to have been his last "quit". It's such a struggle, but well worth it.
Keep up the good work and keep busy...he tells me it keeps your mind off the "need" for a cigarette.
Way to go!!! Keep us posted on your awesome progress!
Hugs,
