Newbies, where are you?
Welcome to the VA board. Sounds like you are doing great so far too. Tha****er deal is a toughie. Try adding crystal light, true lemon, propel, sugar free koolaid or something to your water. I can't drink mine without it. It is so important to keep up with. I found early out that if I didn't keep up with my water, my weightloss slowed down. Dehydration doesn't feel all that great either. I love the Adkins Chocolate Chip Granola Protien Bars. Stick around the board, we are a great bunch and love to include more.
HI all, It is good to hear about everyone else's journeys so far...keep up the great work!
I have been busy trying to keep up with my 2 kids and work since my surgery on 4/3/07. I am still struggling alot with eating and having a tough time with anything more than soft purees most of the time. I struggle to get in 60 grams of protein and well maybe 48 oz liquid per day. I am not taking my calcium yet due to suspect pouch irritation (told by doc ok to wait 1 more month) and started B12 injections since I have so much trouble with pills/liquids. My doc says he is willing to wait 2 more weeks to see if my stoma opens up more and my feeding tolerance improves, if not, he wants to scope me for a stricture. Well, good news is that I haven't vomited in 1 week (although I am not pushing the solids foods as hard now...I got tired of vomiting after every attempt!) Best news is that I have lost 34 # since the surgery 2 months ago and 57# since January when I started my high protein, low carb, low cal diet. I haven't had much energy to exercise, but I need to and I know this...I just have to find the time and the energy... one day soon. Take care, Dianne

Set aside June 30th if you can, to join the Hampton Roads group. I'm not sure what we are doing yet so watch the post's.
