Hello all. I am now 6 weeks post-op (4/30/07) and i think i have stalled. I have not lost any weight since last thursday. How do we get our bodies to start loosing again? I guess i should not be upset since i have lost 33 since my surgery which is good for my height and pre surgery weight but i hate seeing the scale stand still. Thanks for letting me vent....

Unfortunately the stalls are completely normal with our journeys.  Our bodies just need the time to take a break and get used to what is going on.  They have no rhyme or reason to them either, they kind of just happen whenever, they last various amounts of time.  It is so furstrating.  There isn't much to do to get out of one, you can up your protien, exercise & water to help but not gauranteed to work.  I found pretty early out that if I wasn't getting enough of my water then my loss slowed way down.  If you haven't already done so, take your body measurements.  I always found that during the stalls, my inches would drop & down in sizes I would go.  As always vent away...

Ditto on Courtney's reply.  Hang in there.  The story of my weight loss is about one stall after another, to the point I wouldn't call them stalls, it's simply the way I lose.  I would lose 7-9 pounds and then nothing for 2-3 weeks, then down again. Take heart, and stick to your diet! Lois

I hear ya, girl!   I was about a week before you with Dr. Mann. I haven't lost anything in about a week, either.  Im trying not to be discouraged and I'm going to try Courts advice and up my water if I can.

Did you used to go to the nutirition classes at Portsmouth?  You look a bit famililar.

Chin up and walk walk walk! :-)

WE have all been there and HATED this part !!!    : - ) Hang tight.  Your body is trying to find some equalibrium.  It is in a state of shock with all this rapid weight loss. My personal advice to you and what helped me was.... Keep a daily log on your weight loss.  I weighed daily.  ( Even though others say not to and most the time when I was dealing with this I wanted to chuck the scale across the room !!!.)  That way I saw the trend in how my body would lose, gain a few pounds back, stall out for a week or two and then lose a bit again. Congrats on the weight loss !!!  You are doing awesome !!! Dana
