Endoscopy tomorrow

I will be opening wide and saying "aaaaahhhhh" tomorrow morning at 8:30 for my endoscopy.  Not scared or nervous, just happy to have one more step in this journey complete.  I have taken the whole day off of work as the doctor's office suggested.  Anyone have any suggestions or advice for me for tomorrow? After tomorrow, I have my pre-op on the 23rd and will finally get my long-awaited date.  I am so, so ready for this.   I had to get my short term disability papers notarized by someone here in this building and of course she could read it and see what was going on.  She told me how very proud she was of me and that she would not tell anyone.  I said I am not going to hide the fact that I am having WLS.  I am going to tell anyone/everyone who wants to know about it cuz I have come such a long way and will not hide this like Star Jones did.   Love ya'll

Yeah for you on the next step in your journey.  My advice is to make sure you have some soft foods for the afternoon & evening.  I had eggs.  Taking the day off was a great idea, not because you will feel bad but because of the anesthia, you can't drive, etc. because the affects of it can make you a bit woozy, etc. and you could be considered legally drunk (what I was told by the doc who did mine).  I felt fine the rest of the day after mine, just relaxed, watched some movies, etc.

Hello and HOW EXCITED you must feel. I can remember the beginning  of my journey. The endoscopy is a piece of cake... (excuse the metaphore) They give you an IV and make you swallow this REALLY NASTY slimy stuff  that will numb your throat and esophocus. Then they give you some really nice drugs to relax you  and you go to sleep (at least I did...). Then, they wake you up and that is it. Dr. Schirmer will tell you what they found and send you on your way. I felt tired for most part of the day. I guess due to the really nice drugs that they use to relax me. Swallowing the slimy stuff was the hardest part of the whole thing. So relax and good luck. Let us know how it goes. Tootles! Cath

Good luck tomorrow--I'll be there as well getting my head examined (HAHA) for the psych eval at 0900. Take care and keep me posted on how you are doing.
