Okay, folks.  This is NOT JoAnn--it is her evil, stink-free twin here with a question....................... I guess she should be thankful if this is her worst WLS complaint, but she stinks....I mean it.....She stinks.  It doesn't matter what she eats, she gets BAAAAADDDDDDDDDDD gas.  EVERY day.  She asked her PCP about it yesterday, and he just laughed and said to take Gas-X.  Trust me....she should own stock in the company, but it doesn't help, even with the chewables. She is about to get kicked out of her house.  Hell, the DOGS don't even want to be around her! Any ideas???  Naturally, she is terribly embarrassed about this problem.. Love and RENUZIT, JoAnn's odorless twin P.S.  If this keeps up, she'll never get a roomie for Richmond!

O Dear Gosh .. what have you done to JoAnn .. I just pinch my nose when I am around her .. shoot she and I can hold our own in the Gas Department ..   So I guess Tom is tired of the Dutch Oven .. LOL and  I guess he is tired of the new stinkey bathroom .. LOL  Look at what she is eating .. maybe you can eliminate the gas by back tracking your foods. And hey did you know some medications and vitamins can give you gas ?  Love ya ..  Stink .. NO that is you .. I mean  Tink .. LOL

Well tooter maybe I'll have to room with you cause my hubby calls me foul too! No matter what I eat I get the worst smelling gas at night. Gas X, tums etc don't even touch it. If you find a solution tell me before I have to sleep outside!

Hi....my name is Jill and I stink, too BUT....I can now compete and WIN against my 2 guys, so I don't complain too much. HAHAHA - in fact, 2 weekends ago (now picture this), we were driving home in out truck from camping and it was hot outside and I had the window open.  I ate a South beach breakfast bar that morning before leaving and within an hour, I could feel it brewing. So, as we drove along, I would periodically shift and ripped a silent but deadly (there were times where even I gasped). HAHAHAHA - The wind would grab it and throw it around the hot interior of the tuck and my son in the backseat would suddenly gasp and cry out "MOM!". "What?" as innocently as I could muster (while tears were streaming down my face as I sat in silence looking straight ahead trying not to laugh). As many times as blankets were thrown over my head, little boys would bend over right in front of me, I wa in the store thinking that the meat in the counter had gone bad or I was ask "pull my finger", this is PAYBACK TIME! Seriously though, I find that if I've had soy or certain carbs within an hour I'm put-putting along. Good luck!

Hi Joann!!  Oh my can I totally understand your dilemma. My husband is waiting for a scientific break through and we can use methane gas in our vehicles. He says that we will be able to drive across the country with my butt attached to the motor.  I too have use Gas-X on a regular basis. ( BTW I wonder if Costco sells it by the case?) For the most part, I dont think that it helps too much. I believe that I get gas from taking gas-X ...for that matter, I think that I get gas from BREATHING!!!   Good luck and let us know if you find anything that works. Tootles Cath

This **just** popped into my head...don't take offense, please!!

I have a dog who can clear a room better than any of you can. Turns out she has a hard time digesting something in her dog food. Our vet told us to give her a tablespoon or two a day of plain fat free yogurt. It has been a lifesaver. We can actually be in the same room as her for a whole day!!! Maybe you guys could try it, too?! At least it is healthy even if it doesn't work?!

Tigger, While I have found no way to eliminate gas, I have found a way to control it. I learned of a product called a Flat-D. It's material made from the same stuff they make chemical defense suits for the military. They discovered it's use with flatulence when they noticed that when they were wearing the suits an farted, no one could smell them. The inventor has made this material into underwear liners and chair cushion covers. And they do work, I know from experience since I have been on medication that have kept me gassy for a long time. If you Google "Flat-D", it should come up.

Lap Band on 07/16/07 with
Well, I guess they don't call ya'll "by-passers" for nothin'!!!!  LOL I'm sorry ya'll...on one level, this probably really isn't very funny, but on another level, I had to laugh out loud reading ya'lls posts. I had gas for the first couple of weeks after surgery, but now I"m fine.  Maybe it's not as big a problem for lapbanders?  Anyway, I hope you can find a remedy for your "problem".  Personally, I didn't feel the least bit guilty when I had MY gas...pay back to hubby for his noxiousness!!!

Hugs!
Ann
