Hello all, I have a question to ask. I ate some (very tender) roast beef tonight. It got stuck. I got the foamies and it hurt like *@!! from my neck to my rib cage. I finally threw up a little bit and there was blood around the food that came back up. Is it normal to throw up a little bit of blood when you get some food stuck? I feel fine and have not seen any blood prior to this. Does anyone have some experiences with this? I wont call the Dr. unless it happens again, I am just curious. Hope every one had a great weekend. I have been at work for 6 days straight, and tomorrow will make 7 in a row. I do have Tuesday and Wednesday off...YEAH!!! Tootles! Cath

Hey Baby Doll .. if it happens again .. please call the doctor . Did you eat anything that had red in it ?  I sometimes do that and forget .  I just had an episode this weekend .. same thing almost but it was a hot dog from the mall .. and I spent all day at JoAnns throwing up .. it finnaly passed ... Thank God .  But yep the meat could have done it ..  You could have popped a blood vessel when you vomited .. so many things . Just keep an eye on it ... and like I said .. call the doc if it happens again .  Hugs...  Tink

Hey Nat, I did not eat anything else. I do not do well with meat, but I found out the hard way that roast beef is the worst. It was a pot roast that had cooked all day long, so it was quite tender. ??? Who knows.  How are you feeling? I hope to be able to come to the next FFP meeting at Jill & Jon's house. It sounds like fun. Hugs back at ya! Cath

It is fairly normal to throw up what you ate (for those who are lucky enough to be able to throw it up) that was stuck but I have not heard of the blood around it - which sounds like you have maybe irritated something pretty badly........  I would talk to your doctor now in case you may have an ulcer forming or have some damage they may want to check out.....please don't wait until next time unless they say so because by next time the damage may be worse... Hi Jackie,  I do not usually throw up anything, so it was quite unusual for me. I do get nausious (sp)  often and feel bad, but that is it. I have a appointment with my PC in a few weeks and I will ask her for sure. Tootles Cath

Hey Cathy I haven't ever thrown up so I can't really say.  I would think that maybe you irritated something.  Talking to your pcp at your appt. is a good idea.  Pick up some of the papaya supplement.  It is chewable and when something gets stuck you take it and it will help break down the meat.  Sorry you had to go through this.
