She likes it just the way it is. That's my sweety, 25 years next May and all of it with a beard, except for once or twice, for a short period, when I a had an employer who couldn't stand beards. Speaking of our 25th anniversary next May. Can anyone recommend a nice place on the beach, Cathy loves the sight, sounds and smell of the ocean, that could be rented (don't have much money with 2 kids in college) and would be good for just us two for a few days during May of 2008?  Too cold to swim then, but just walking on the beach, hand in hand, would suit us fine. Thanks

Michael

25 years in May? My husband and I will be celebrating our 14th anniversary in May. I pray that we make it to our 25th, but that is over 11 years away! I am glad that she loves you just the way you are. So many of us gals are always trying to change our guys...You know the old saying... You can lead a horse to water, but you cant make him drink..... Nice choice, Cathy!  She really does know best since she has to look at you everyday! LOL

I spoke to my sister-in-law today & she was raving about the wonderful time they spent in VA Beach last week.  They stayed at the Holiday Inn & she said it was all so lovely.  That says alot cuz this lady is VERY particular.  Of course I'm partial to the beaches in Hawaii, but I'm guessing that would be out of your budget.

Hugs!
Ann

Great call on Cathy's part.  She does know & love you best so definitely make her happy. The beach is a great place for an anniversary.  I don't have any suggestions as I haven't been to VA Beach in so many years.  You could always check some ofther beaches.  May should still be off season and prices should be decent.

Having just returned from my first stay at Virginia Beach, my recommendation is to pick any of the hotels on the waterfront.  It is just wonderful and you don't have to put up with the kitsch across the street away from the water!  The Cavalier can be expensive ($199/night in season) and is at the north end (42nd St) of the southern beaches (VA Beach south of Fort Story).  The trolley goes up that way so you could hop it to get to the southern end.  I stayed at the Fairfield Inn (Separate bedroom with living and dining area, small fridge and microwave, and balcony accommodating 2 chairs and small table) for $159/night in season breakfast included.  Not sure whether May is in season at VAB.  We had dinner one night at Catch 31 (31st St at the Hilton I think), recommended to me by someone on this board.  We sat outside and it was gorgeous!!! I don't know anything about VAB north (west?) of Fort Story.
