Revamped Support Group and Meetings

Tri-Cities Weight Loss Surgery Support Group (TC WLS Spt Grp) (NOTE: Replaces Gastric Bypass Support Group meeting, new leadership and meeting(s) moved from 1^st Thurdays)     Group serving (Hopewell, Colonial Heights, and Petersburg as well    as surrounding areas that include but not limited to Chesterfield,   Chester, Prince George, Fort Lee, Dinwiddie, etc.   We are a non-profit, no cost or fee support group meetings serving    all types of WLS pre-operative interested parties. pre-op candidates,   and especially post-operative patient and support person(s) regardless   of time since surgery or surgery type.  Everyone is welcome. Meetings: 2^nd & 4^th Mondays   Upcoming meetings:            9/10, 9/24, 10/8, 10/22, 11/12, 11/26, & 12/10;                                        no mtg on 12/24 Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Location:      John Randolph Medical Center (JRMC)     411 West Randolph Rd , Hopewell VA 23860     Classroom A/B     Directions to classroom:                        Enter Emergency Room entrance.                        Go past Radiology to elevators.                         Take elevator down to Basement.                        Exit elevator to the right.                        Turn at first left goes to Classroom A/B. Good for you Joe! It is always good to see Support Groups be taken over when they are in danger of dying or members dwindling.  I am sure you will be a great Support Group Leader - you have the motivation to succeed! Jackie

I was so glad to hear you had stepped up to take over this support group. It was an awesome group in the past . I think if word is spread it will continue to grow . There is not a bariatric program at John Randolph . However there are lot's of new people on the boards now that live in your area that I am sure would like to attend .  I will be having a meeting of all support group leaders at our VA. Jan Conference . Be sure to get signed up to come . We'll need a couple of meeting to get our numbers back.  I have email list from Keith of 10 but only 4 at our first meeting.  But we all left excited about the changes and our new direction and focus to grow and do stuff. O good gracious... now that made me laugh .. I would be more than happy to . I so miss Colonial Heights , but would not trade being with my new husband for all that the Boulevard has to offer .. Hey there skinny man! 184 lbs to date gone is awesome. How about blogging the group info on your profile for ease in referring folks to the meetings? Come on all of you out in the Hopewell/ Colonial Heights area--get to Joe's support group. I know you will enjoy yourself!

Thanks for the idea Jen and the support. Didn't think about putting it on my profile.  Guess it can't hurt.  I do encourage pre-ops and new post ops to go to profiles and read members stories a nd their before and after photos as I continually find them inspiring.   And thanks for the skinny comment but at 225ish and 40 pants, I ain't there yet. But this facilitating thing has got me a bit fired up and distracted from the frustration of the rate of weight loss slowing down so much.
