Cath,  I understand this as my family do things like this too and it is all about food. Before you go there plan (as much as you can) what you are going to eat and then tell everyone that you just ate and are not very hungry and just eat a few bites of the things you fancy - that way you won't stray too far from the straight and narrow........ and not feel the guilt you think you are going to feel already. Drink lots so as not to tempt yourself and enlist the help of your husband to not let you eat too much. But you know once in a while you can let yourself eat a little of the things you woul dnot normally and go straight back to your normal eating pattern the very next day....try to stay away from carbs and eat as much protein foods as you can... If you go with the right mind set of controlling what you eat ,you can do this!! Good luck Jackie

Jackie has given you excellent advice. Of course all the while that you are nibbling on high protein stuff and drinking lots of water, everyone will be saying to themselves, " So that's why she looks so good."

Hi Jackie,  The reunion was boring ... the only thing that saved me from over eating was that the food was as boring as the reunion.  There was a lot of mac & cheese, fried chicken and those little meat balls (none of which I like very well). Nothing looked good to me. I had a bite of this and a bite of that. I did keep lots of water in me and I think that that helped. Tomorrow will be a new start and I will stick to high protein / low carbs .  Thanks for the advice! Cath

Glad it worked out for you. I really have to watch myself at those type gatherings. It is not as bad as it was for a while. Seems my pouch has let me know who is boss again and Im so glad. Have lost alot of the few pounds i had gained and am so happy, Many more and it will mean new clothes. Oh no! Havent been go Goodwill alot lately as I dont go out all the time. But if it happens I will find the time and energy.  Shannon

Hopefully things went well for you today.  I always make a point to stay away from the food at these events, which actually ends up being an extra plus for me because I go outside with the kids and get special play time with my neices & nephews.
