I was just wondering because the first couple of weeks I didn't feel hungry when I woke up.  Now all of a sudden I do.  I sometimes have to get up earlier because I am hungry, I eat something high in protein to sqelch the hunger.  Just wondered becausehat  I went so long without feeling that hungry feeling and wondered if this was just a normal adjustment to my new tummy.  Also when I eat dinner around 5:00 pm I am hungry around 9:00 pm  I usually eat a small snack.  Last night I ate a small amount of my left over mexican dinner.  Couple bites of beans and 2 bites of soft taco.  Is this what you all experience?

Not usually in the morning for me but I often get what I consider "hunger pains" in my tummy.  Somehow I'm now really hungry or have an appetite but I think my stomach is just saying "um.. feed me!!". Is it head hunger or do you feel hunger pains?

I get real hungry maybe an hour after I wake up. As the months go by I do get hungry, I wi**** was the same as when I 1st got out of surgery lol I still only eat 500 calories a day though so when I do get hungry it just takes a few bites to fill me up. I try to eat on time and have 2 small snacks in between

You feeling more now could be that your swelling has gone down enough so get hungry u will notice being ableto eat or drink a bit more at a time.  I am almost 3mths out and where you are seems about right. Linda

There are some that never seem to feel hungry........Wish I was one of them!!    I went thru some real hunger times starting about 3 weeks after surgery..................really put me in a panic, wondering what in blazes was wrong with me. The babyjane suggested that I eat something every two hrs, and I began to do that, and remember to eat slowly..................after a while I seemed to adjust and now I am more like normal.................I get hungry...........I eat..............I'm satisfied.  Watching carbs was what I did to make sure I wasn't eating things that would sabotage the weight loss............ i dont have "hunger " more like a empty feeling if that makes any since.  I can eat if I want or i dont have too. The empty feeling stays until about 3 hours into the day. Then goes away. I used to get major hunger pains...crumbling ,weak  just had to have something to eat .Prior to surgery. Take care God BLess BIGGS

Yes!  I am so hungry when I wake up that I feel nauseous.  After a few bites of cheese or something I am fine.  It's weird before VSG I always felt what I thought was "hunger".  I now know that I just wanted something/anything to eat.  Now my stomach is actually empty!  How great it is to eat because I really need to and not because I  WANT to.

hi roadtothin, i get really hungry about an hour after waking up.  i have made a habit out of getting to the gym right away so that i can't go ahead and eat a whole bunch of whatnot.   i do remember that i used to wake up STARVING every morning, pre-surgery.  when i would mention it to normal-weighted people, many said that they wake up hungry to and have a little something to keep appetite at bay (like some nuts or a yogurt).  so i guess it's not that weird. -shannon
