is pressure/pain normal one week out?

This may be a "duh" question, but how long does the pain/pressure in my new smaller stomach last.  Or should that all be a distant memory by now?

It seems like most of the time I drink something-only three sips or even 2 (I am still on the liquid diet), there is a big pushing feeling in my stomach that lasts for a few seconds.  It almost feels like a little fist is pushing out or squeezing even (no, I am not pregnant!!!).

Is my sleeve still a little irritated or what?

Can anyone relate?

Thanks and I am glad to be back.  I really appreciate all the prayers and concern on the board that I was able to see when I finally felt good enough to spend some time on the board.

I don't believe it should be a distant memory yet.  I can't remember exactly when I realized I had no pressure more often than having pressure, but at  nearly 3 months out I can still have some pressure depending on what I eat or how fast I eat and drink,  It justs gets better everyday but does take some time.

I am also 1 week post-op.  2 days ago I had some serious gas.  It did pass. I walked and walked, and I put a warm compress on my tummy.

I am doing much better now.
Have you tried some light and smooth yogurt?  I can eat 1/2 of a yogurt at one sitting.

Are you drinking protein drinks?  I am but I hate them.

If you want to chat, please feel free.

God Bless you, Barb

Your tummy is seriously unhappy with you right now!  You just had someone remove about 80% of it!  You are still very swollen.  The feeling just gradually goes away.  It may take weeks- everyone is different.

Sip slowly and frequently!  Also, I found a heating pad on my tummy helped a lot.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I was about to post a similar question? Being just 4 days out there is still alot of 'gurgling' noises.....I really cannot tell if I am full or hungry or what?? Is this normal? I am now on full liquid diet but having a real tough time getting in a lot of anything. I cannot eat a full yogurt, protein shakes I cannot get a full one down in one sitting either. Have not had a 'bullet' yet  I know I am not getting in my full protein amount should I be concerned yet ??  Water and unsweetened tea is a little easier but still all the grumbling in the stomach......I know this is going to take a lot of getting used to just want to know a little more about what to expect and if I am following the plan properly.....
Thanks to all for the prayers and well wishes......and the advice and suggestions

Your stomach is very small and very swollen.  It will likely take several weeks before that feeling completely goes away.  But it gets better with each passing week.
