My sister had the lap-band and her husband had the gastric bypass, both of them tend to get things stuck when eating.  Is this also a problem with the sleeve??

I am almost 4 months out and I have not had any problems with things getting stuck. It seems to be less of a problem with the sleeve than with some of the other procedures.
Whatever you do is it truthful, necessary and kind?

Becuase the leave the natural flow in/out of stomach in place, I think its a little better, but I do notice a 'stuck' feeling when i take too big a bite and/or don't chew well, or eat too fast.

But if I follow the rules, amazing how nothing bothers me.

In the beginning, I had that sensation when I tried to eat too fast. Now 5 months out, everything is back to normal or else I have a adapted and just don't do what made me feel like that. I'm not sure???

There is no stoma, like with RnY or lap band, so you don't get truly 'stuck' ... as in something goes down into the pouch but won't get passed the stoma.

OTOH, when I eat too fast, I get a pain I call feeling "stuck". It's yucky.

I am only 5 weeks out, but I have had no problem swallowing at all.

I do get a very full feeling if I eat too fast, or do not chew everything to death.

But swallowing per se is no problem at all.

Aloha again, Jakimmi- I can swallow just fine....but I cannot GULP. No****er nor food. Immediately post op I had either selling, a hematoma, or a kink that prevented me from swallowing for about 4 days- they kept me in the hospital an extra night (and I was a self pay, arrrrggh) and hit me with antiinflammatories. We stopped short of scoping and I went home still having difficulty, but was fine by the evening of Day 4. I have issues when I gulp water ( a difficult habit to break--- all you preops should modify your gulping habits now!). I also have probnlems when something is not chewed well or I have "just one more bite". Immediate correction from my gut. As in urping. But nothing seems to get stuck. XOXOLori
