The Black and White cookie is a staple at Jewish delis, bakeries and restaurants. In Miami, especially on Miami Beach, you cannot go out without being tempted by the Black and White cookie.

I buy them for my 2 kids and when I gave in to the temptation to have a few bites I paid for it with pain and discomfort.

Who would have thought the VSG does not like the Black and White cookie? Everyone likes the Black and White cookie!

one year out and still cannot do Italian pastas - but rice noodles work ok.  Real ice cream - no way - too  rich - but ice milks, sorbets, etc. are fine.  Eggs are still really hard but if I make them scrambled really soft and moist, I can get in a few bites.  Tried a few sips of diet coke - no way - burns going down - used to live on that stuff.

Haha I'm ready a WHOLE thing of Chili Cheese Fries from my favorite joint Fabulous!!

Now onto my VSG world.  I cannot do Milk (I can do limited ice cream, string cheese, etc milk products) but milk and my stomach gurgles and my ass explodes and I FART up a storm ALL night long, lol.

At first potatoes made me PROJECTILE vomit from about 3 days to 1 year in ANY amount.  Now I can get away with (about 1/5 of my FAVORITE chili cheese fries...the container weighs easily over a pound, lol)

Let's see...

Rice, pasta, bread, beans, lentils, eggs (sometimes), and leafy salad greens. Everything else seems to be a-ok :)

Pasta, one bite is too much, I used to eat it all the time.
white meat (chicken, pork, turkey...)
tuna
salmon

I never liked meat before surgery, but most kinds make me sick now.  I have no idea how  people get their protein in!

Unfortunately I can report that a quarter pound of cookies is no problem. I have no problem with rice, and the greasier something is, the easier it is on my stomach.

VSG on 06/01/09 with
any kind of soft breads are a no-no, they make me ill, pastas too, after 2 smalle bits of pasta i'm ready to hurl... (toast, or crackers though, are ok!)

i can't eat rice either, and that's a serious staple for us mexicans... beans, nope... i'm losing my mexican-ness... sonofa*****!

i can handle 5-6 french fries, the small skinny kind (not steak fries)

eggs are a definite NO, milk gives me the runs, and nuts i can eat but like maybe 6 peanuts and i feel like a stuffed sausage...

on the bright side though... i CAN eat STEAK, GROUND BEEF, CHICKEN, FISH (INCLUDING TUNA), AND PORK CHOPS (2 -2.5 oz at a time) and all kinds of deli meats and cheeses... yay!

Rice. I had creamy chicken rice on Sunday and had 'dumping'. What a terrible feeling. I thought I was going to die. I'm just feeling better today. I've had small amounts of rice in a burrito with no problems but it's not a meal any more. Everything else goes down fine.

Movie popcorn, and it's very sad for me! I love the movies and popcorn is just part of the experience. I do okay when I sneak in some almonds or string cheese. But, I tried just a little popcorn over the holidays and by the time I got home I was very sick . . . and my son said I was a "stink bomb" -- nice, huh?

I've not had any trouble with anything else. Nuts and eggs seem to be common problem foods but I eat a lot of both. I have to work VERY hard to stay away from the carbs . . . three months in and they still whisper my name. I've not tried ice cream or pasta -- frankly, I am scared to and will avoid it as long as I possibly can. Unfortunately, I can still eat christmas cookies and pecan pie . . . glad the holiday food is finally GONE!
