Granted, I haven't tested all the waters yet, but I haven't found any issues yet.  I've tried eggs and nuts with no issues.

I was always sick with the band, not tolerating foods, that I think my body may tolerate anything now :)

I am going to approach raw veggies, salad, bread with much caution however.

Tuna, milk, sugar cookies, and thick gravy.....so far. Haven't tried icecream because if I cannot tolerate it, it will be so disappointing for it is my most favorite treat.

Rice - sits heavy
Quinoa - makes me nauseous

And really that's about all I avoid.  I can eat pretty much anything - and I love spicy food - if it doesn't make my head sweat it's not hot enough.  Sometimes now i get the hiccups with spicy food, but that doesn't stop me from eating it.

White creamy things...lol.......milk, string cheese, ranch dressing, cream cheese, sour cream...but I can do pastas, rice and breads. If its to greasy or high in sugar ..it does make me ill.
What I need to stay away from is any cracker or croutons...I can get them down way to easy.
Im practically 1 year out and my eating habit has always consisted of a little of this and a little of that and its worked for me.

Well, Larry from Arizona, that's an interesting question.  The responses are amazing to me.

I am 6.5 weeks post-surgery and I can absolutely anything.  Nothing has EVER disagreed with me, (except for the protein drinks but I can tolerate a half of one kind, watered down now).  I strive to eat properly but in small portions, on occasion, I eat sweets or fries or whatever.  On day 4 post-surg I was so hungry I ate mashed potatoes and salmon in an airport restaurant on the way home.  I chewed the salmon very well so I thought it was the same as pureed.  On Day 6 post-surgery I ate 4 perogies and soup and I got a tummy ache but I think it is because I ate too much.  On Day 8 post-surgery, I ate an egg salad sandwich on white bread and I had to throw up but I think it is because I got talking, not paying attention and at all and ate the whole thing quickly.  I also ate a pickle and two whole squares in the same sitting so I think I overate.

I had some very vague advice from my doctor about post-surg eating and she kept emphasizing to go by how I feel.  I think I mis-interpreted this somehow.  Now that I have found this forum, I think I have made some very bad eating mistakes.  I have not tried pop (soda) and I never will put pop in my mouth again.

I am grateful I had no complications and healed very quickly.  In fact, about a week after surgery I had almost forgotten I had surgery.  At 2.5 weeks post surgery, I lifted my 9 year old child over a snowbank and barely felt that the next day.  I feel like bionic lady or something weird and I am a bit envious of those with better restrictions.

Well, I don't really know the point of this rambling reply.  I try to be useful and intelligent and always make sense when posting on this board but I am just a little upset that I haven't lost more weight and I am quite upset about my doctor's lack of post-surgical anything which I feel contributed to a bad start for me.  I am having a bad day today because I had to euthanize my cat this morning that I have had for 17 years.  She was very old and sickly.  However, tonight I am going to my first support group meeting here in our city and I am meeting Peanut Free Mom and Stoon Gal.  So looking forward to meeting other sleevers locally and I am so grateful to all the people on this board for all that I have learned here.

Chicken skin...I miss wings!! I've tried them twice and both times have been miserable after eating 3. Skinless chicken is fine, though...skinless wings just aren't the same, though!

Pasta fills me up to the miserable point too fast...no biggie for me as I was never a pasta fan.

Eggs...sigh. They were my staple right after surgery. Now not so much. I keep trying (my 10 year old daughter LOVES to cook me breakfast). They just sit like lead.

I'm with you on the discipline part of this. The holidays really sent me on a tail spin. So many yummy carbs!! Now I'm working on not eating the carbs I'm not supposed to. Tough going! Can't do the pouch test cuz  cottage cheese is just NASTY!

One great thing that I've discoverd lately SWEET RED PEPPERS! Oh yum!!

What is a pouch test and what does cottage cheese have to do with it?

From what I've read, you measure out the cottage cheese and see how  much you can eat...then subtract what is left from what you started out with...that's supposed to be how much your tummy can hold. And you do it for 5 days to get off carbs...definitely not for me to try.

Thanks for posting this...I had read about the cottage cheese thing...said heck no and didn't go much further into it!! I could definitely do the 5 day pouch test if I don't have to include cottage cheese!!!
