I've been looking at the before and after photos and some people look like they are the same size before as as i am now but it says 290 or 270 and I'm so confused.

I do have bigger arms and thighs and very top heavy so I dont know??

Just kinda wondering how it went with you...

How much did you loose and what size jeans are you now.

Any suggestions...

Oh and to top it all off I'm getting married in September and have no clue what size dress I will need and you know you have to pre order them months in advance.  UGH!

You can look at my profile to see my before pics. I was 351 and now I'm 212 at almost a year out.  I'm 5'4.  I am still losing, just a bit slower than i was .

bear in mind that everyone loses at different rates ----

i am a smidge under 5'7" and started at 354, wearing a snug 28....   6 months out i am down 101.6 lbs and comfortably in a size 18.... i have a couple of size 16 pants that i can get into and zip, but they are pretty tight...   my shirts are 18-20 depending on style...  i do have larger upper arms, so there are some fit issues there...

and i'm not done yet.....

good luck on your journey...

I started at about 339 (I'm 5'7") and I'm ALmost 80 lbs lost.I don't feel like I look any different than I did pre-op, but I'm sure I do. I can see a difference just in the before/after pics I took at 40 lbs lost. I can tell a difference in the amount of skin I have though. Uggh. I was hoping it would magically shrink back into place (not that it has ever been IN place) but I see now that's not going to be the case.

I've always been big so I doubt my extra skin is going anywhere without more surgery. Which I'm okay with, provided I can somehow come up with the money. I didn't feel like my arms or legs were all THAT big pre-op, but I do have some extra skin in my upper thighs and of course I have the bat wings. The thing that bums me most though is my chin. I always had a few extras, but now the one I have (if you look closely, which I hope you don't) is kinda shrivled looking. Uck. But overall I can cope with the extra skin. I'm happy to be losing.

As far as clothes, I am still wearing what I wore pre-op. I went looking for some pants to wear to work today though and my old size 28 jeans were like wearing a tent. I'm constantly having to pull them up, so I guess its time to see if I can get into some 26s. I'd say 24s, but I don't know if I'm THAT optimistic. ;)

Congrats on your upcoming wedding. I have no idea what to tell you about the dress!

They can take a dress in no problem, just don't get boatloads of embellishment for them to deal with. Hell they can take them out and even put panels in to make them bigger. I wouldn't worry at all about losing before the wedding, most brides do anyhow, maybe not 100 but some.

You order a dress a few months or so before but alterations are pretty near the date. That is SO COOL that you have that to look forward to!!! Good for you!

I look at those pics, too and try to compare myself with them.  What I've learned is that I cannot do that.  Everybody loses from different areas first (next, last) and some lose from all over pretty evenly.  They might carry their weight different, have more/less muscle mass, etc.

That being said, I still look at the before and after pics to try to get an idea of what I'll look like post op.

I'm only 5'2" and started at 263lbs, the morning of my revision, and was squeezing into a tight 22W-24W pant with a 26/28W blouse/shirt. I was extremely "round" and carried the majority of my weight in my abdomen and chest. Today, I'm bouncing between 130-132lbs, wearing a small to medium top, and a size 6-7 in jeans. It all depends on the brand and cut of the jean. I know others that weigh a little more than me and are wearing smaller sizes, it's all about body shape. I have tiny boobs now, tiny legs, no hiney but still have this baby fat roll on my lower abdomen. It bothered me for a couple of months, but I've accepted the fact that we're all shaped differently and no matter what I won't be the same "size" as other members.

Congrats on your upcoming nuptials. I have no idea on wedding dresses either. We kind of eloped, and didn't go through all the planning and dress shopping.
