Anyone start @ 230lb weight ?
I started at 223 the day of surgery. Highest weight was 233 I am two months out and am down to 194. I can tell that I am going to be a slow loser. I have noticed a huge change in my body though. The lbs may not show up on the scale, but I am losing inches. I am now in a size 14 pants and a large shrirt. The 14 is getting a little loose on me. I am happy with whatever it is that my body is doing- inches or pounds....as long as something is happening!
my immediate pre op weight was 230 after a 17 lb pre op weight loss. so 8.5 months out i have lost 82.5 post op and a total of 99.5. this is a little slower than my surgeon likes but i am very near goal and am gonna get there. I am older and have never been able to lose weight fast like some folks. just the way it is. i am 5'4" and bmi is now 25.3 - just a tad above NORMAL. its been great and actually pretty easy! D
I was 234 lbs when I had the surgery mid-April. I lost 40 pounds quickly and have steadily lost the other 20, just at a slower pace than the first bit. You definitely have to exercise and eat the correct food to keep your body fueled and healthy. I know it will be tougher for me to drop the next 35 or so I would like to lose. Here's to staying focused!
Best of luck and know you can do it!

Hi Marie, My high weight was 228 and was about 210 on the day of my surgery. I have lost a total of 72 lbs. I weigh156 as of today. I am 45 years old and am 5'5. About 3-4 months out I had a 5 week stall and really thought I was done but I was ok with that because all my co-morbid issues had been resolve. That being said, I have lost 10 lbs a month for the past 2 months. I dont know why but for some reason I finally "got it". I was totally obsessed with my food. I felt like I had to eat something ever couple of hours (head hunger) and then when I realized I could go 3 hours if I ate a little more dense protein and could reduce my calorie intake, it just started working. I am about 6 lbs away from my first goal weight, then I will work on 10 lbs at a time. I dont want to get so thin I look sick. I'm really thinking 135-140 is going to be a good range for me. But I guess we will see. As other have posted, dont be disappointed if you lose slower than others. There are many things that factor into our individual weight loss. Just enjoy the ride!
Good Luck on your weight loss journey!!
